  • Colorful glaze is nonporous, non-reactive and resistant to chips, scratches and stains
  • Virtually non-stick glazed surface easily releases food for quick clean-up, and resists cracking and crazing
  • Superior heat retention keeps food warm or cold for serving
  • Safe for freezer, oven, microwave, broiler, dishwasher and metal utensils

Very Disappointed

We'd been eyeing this french press for awhile -- love the look and love Le Creuset pots. Finally went for it and wish we'd read reviews beforehand! This is not the same quality as the cast iron cookware. The entire plunger mechanism is poorly designed - from the knob to the screw-on filter. The filter screen is cheap quality and within a month began to fray -- I cut my hand on it! The spiral and cross plates are just as cheaply made. We expected more from this company. Now instead of a french press, we have an overpriced and unneeded water pitcher. (and yes, I'm a long time user of french presses, so do know how to care for them.)

Great, I love it

I just got this and made my 1st cup of coffee and it made a really nice cuppa coffee. I read some of the other reviews just now that say that there were coffee grinds in their coffee but that's probably because they weren't grinding their coffee with the proper grind. It needs to be ground of course grind for a French press which I believe is number nine which is the one that I tell The place where I buy my coffee to grind the coffee for a French press grind number nine. There were no coffee grinds in my coffee. The reason why I got this product is I wanted to stay away from plastic and metal and this company has a good reputation for having high-quality products

First-Class French Press

The french press is my favorite way to make coffee. I've had several: a glass, Bodum brand that cracked. A more expensive, stainless steel option that was nice but small and difficult to find filters for. This beats them in every way. It's absolutely stunning, first of all. Beyond that, it's just so high quality. Every single piece. It is crafted. My only gripes are how hot the press gets after adding the water. One would need an oven mitt or to be very careful. The other thing is, it doesn't have a block for the spout to keep coffee warm for long periods. These are minor issues in my opinion. As long as I can find more filters, I'll be a happy camper for some time!

Disappointed

I was really disappointed after my purchase. I own two other inexpensive French Presses purchased from a name brand chain ($15 each). I love French Press Coffee and grind my own beans for my daily routine. My biggest complaint about the French Press is the heat retention. Generally by the time I get to my second cup of coffee it is luke warm and I have to re-heat unless I put it in an insulated mug after brewing. I recently spent a little more on the Le Creuset Stoneware French Press thinking that I would have better heat retention. I was wrong. In fact my $15 Glass French Press makes a better cup of coffee than my $70 Le Creuset Stoneware. The press looks great, but functionally it isn't worth it.

I use it daily

I use this daily to make the perfect cups of coffee! I warm it first with boiled water, letting it sit while the next batch of water boils in my electric kettle. Pouring that water out just before adding my ground coffee means the coffee stays nice & warm while I drink my first cup. I am the only one in the house that drinks decaf so this is perfect for me and there is less waste than with the Keurig. It also can be taken apart completely with ease so I can clean every part and not worry about hidden bits getting nasty. AND, it's a gorgeous color so could be used if entertaining.

Extra $$ you pay is for the design.

I use this product every day that I have enough time to sit and drink my coffee before starting the day. The ceramic press aids in keeping your coffee hotter longer, especially if u jeep some hot water in there beforehand to warm it up. I find mine to be durable and worth the $ for me because I leave mine out on the counter and it is aesthetically pleasing as anything you can leave out for show. However I don't like that lid doesn't fit snug onto the press, so for the $ not worth it if you're the person who stores it away and doesn't use often. But the quality overall is great.

Beautiful but not quite functional

I use a Chemex most mornings but my wife really loves a French press sometimes - we love all our other Le Creuset products so figured I'd try this out, it's the most stunning French press I've seen. But unfortunately it is not as efficient as it is beautiful. The ceramic on ceramic design does not create an air tight environment of the coffee to stay hot. The strainer also falls a bit short on what I've come to expect from a great French press. If you need a decorative French press, this is the one but if you need it to produce great coffee as well, this isn't it.
