It's a very smooth and fine chalk (even the chunks break smoothly...silky is another word to use). I find this to be very effective for lifting, but when it comes to climbing, I prefer a chalk with a bit more grit. Let my team use it, and they agree, it's just too fine for climbing. Don't get me wrong, its not terrible for climbing, it dries your hands just fine, but again, myself and my team, we prefer a bit of grit.

    I used this chalk for powerlifting. It works wonders. It helps dry out my hands so they do not sweat and I can maintain my grip and strength. I also rock climb occasionally. Similar to powerlifting, my hands remain dry and I can maintain a nice, firm hold on even the small holds. I have been buying this brand for a long time now. My old sports store no longer sells it, and therefore came to Amazon. It is an amazing price and will last you years.

    My husband goes through this stuff like you wouldn't believe, especially since in every day life he doesn't have sweaty hands. Better than regular, plain white gym chalk. I'm not sure if it is because I have particularly sweaty hands, or the chalk isn't very long lasting, but I need to re-chalk my hands every few minutes.     Comes pretty clumpy, so you'll have to work it a bit before it's powder for your chalk sock. We use it for climbing, and it works well with our super sweaty hands. Also, not sure why some people's orders come with the sock while others don't, ours didn't and that was kind of a let down. Just be aware of that.
