Q: Does the alumina mean aluminum?? And why is this needed in toothpaste?
A: Hello, JL. Thank you for the question. Aluminium oxide (Alumina) is present in Sensodyne Clinical White Enamel Strengthening toothpaste as an abrasive, owing to its excellent properties as a cleaning, smoothing and polishing ingredient. Alumina has a long safe history of use in toothpastes and there are no known safety concerns regarding its use, provided the product is used as directed.
