I am reviewing the BlueAir 211i Max and 411i Max series in this review as I bought both - one for living room and one for bedroom. Bottom line, these are very impressive units and for the price I am impressed and pleased with each for functionality and effectiveness. I think the aesthetics of it are pleasing as well. It looks nicer than a black box wheezing in your room.
Pros for the BlueAir series. very very quiet. On auto maintenance mode - you can't hear the thing. These are smart machines. You can monitor every aspect of your air quality through the app. You can adjust the control lights from off to bright. It tracks months of air quality data for the room it is in by month, week, day. You can adjust from sleep mode, auto, and 3 fan speeds using the app remotely. It tells you how much filter life is left. It tells you the outside air quality and compares to your inside.
Example of its effectiveness; I was sautéing some Italian sausage and onions, the unit detected the particles and immediately went into high mode for about 5 minutes until all the odor was eliminated and then went back to silent. The front LED bar changes from Blue to Green, orange and red depending on the air quality while at the same time adjusting the fan speed to address the corresponding level of air quality indicated. Same thing happened when smoking some meat on the back patio. I left the door open to bring in the food, the unit detected the smoke and the front LED went red. After closing the door, it ran on high mode until the LED indicators began to regress back to blue and the fan speed decreasing accordingly until all the smoke odor was eliminated from the room.
Cons for the BlueAir product. It is a bit pricier than other options - but for all the differences - so far, I feel the Blue Air product is definitely worth the price difference, for me at least.
What I have not addressed: the longivity of the products; the life of the filter; ease of maintaining; Both of my purchases are within the first month;

Quiet and Effective!
Based on the amount of dust that my home gets in just a few days, I always wondered if that is one of the reasons one would get sick or maybe just congested. For peace of mind plus thoughts of unknown air toxins, I purchased this air purifier. So far, I only once saw the gauge hit 2% and that was while I was using a blow dryer near it as I dried my hair. Other than that, it remains on 0% whenever I glance at it. It is located right next to my bedroom door, so I glance at it multiple times a day. Outside my bedroom door is a hallway with 3 other bedrooms plus a bathroom and a flight of stairs going to the lower level. This air purifier seems to be doing its job on the top floor of my home. The filter is also hanging on to 80% and I've had it for 3 months. If I calculate this correctly, I might have to change the filter 1 time a year; give or take! I also like that it has a low volume hum which is not annoying and actually is comforting when going to sleep! It is a good buy and I do recommend it, for at the least, giving you peace of mind! Update: 5 months later...2 things occurred since purchase... 1. Somehow, I couldn't re-establish the wifi, but eventually, I figured it out and reconnected. 2. This one is the most important....I was downstairs cooking short ribs for a large family gathering. Haven't used my oven for a while and I opened it to check the ribs and a medium puff of smoke came out from cheese at the bottom of the oven that was slowly burning. I didn't think anything of it, until a 1/2 hour later when I went upstairs for something, the Blueair was churning at a much higher number then the normal 0%!! I thought there was something wrong with it! Then realized, the smoke had traveled from one corner of the house to the total opposite side going up the stairs and into my bedroom. It was not visual, but apparently the Blueair could "see" it and it was churning away until the area was purified, once again! Even our smoke alarms didn't go off, so it was really a minimal amount of smoke, but Me and Hubby were really impressed! Recommend this to anybody and everybody!!

It works well. The price is hight and filter too. I like that it is wifi. I like too that I can control it via smart plug (on/off) and do routine, contrary to my old serie 500/600 that has remote control and it is impossible (Attention: i love my old 500/600 that I have for many years and I am happy with). Hoping the quality has not changed with the time. It is quiet and I like the concept capturing circularly contamination and pushing clean air only vertically on top. I am concerned about the set point when it is in automatic mode. In 3 weeks of use, I never saw changing from automatic mode to hight speed clean air. I think the sensor are very bad contrary to serie 500/600 that easily detect smell, contamination and quickly pass from automatic mode to hight speed clean. That could be improved seriously.
Finally , I saw purifier increase speed at higher level when the numbers on screen at PM2.5 reached higher that 36.
Led light in front of device changes colour: 0-12 blue, 12-22 green, 22-32 yellow, higher than 33 red and speed increase.
