These socks are thin, but they feel great. The support is surprisingly good due to the sock thinness. They stay in place perfectly resting on your leg 4 to 4.5 inches above the ankle. It’s like you’re wearing no sock at all but, your foot is fully supported inside your shoe. Highly priced but worth the cost.

Swiftwick Flite XT 5-- Not really Swiftwick Quality
Swiftwick has been my brand for years, All racing and training, work, travel and recovery. They had the best socks hands down. Race after race, I can honestly say the one thing I never once thought about, my feet.But now, In my opinion, swiftwick makes far too many models, variations, and I believe their quality control is slipping. I have a large tupperware filled to the brim with Swiftwick Pursuit 4's, 7's and 12's. I can compare those to the new models- and the new is thinner, and of a lesser quality. The Flite XT 5's are a great sock, comfy (although seem to run larger than normal) has the right amount of cushion for everyday use, but after one wash, hang dry, the threads are coming undone. I've literally worn these for 3 hours, and you can see the threads fraying from the sock. It could be just a defective sock, but I've never had this happen with Swiftwick. I will buy a few more and see if it's just this sock, and i will also drop to a medium, as the large seems to have extra fabric. Again, its fine for everyday use, but for running, riding, hiking or racing, I'd want the tighter fit because extra fabric will just cause blisters you get deeper into the journey.
