About this item
- One Version, Two Models: Leaf Single-Edge Razors are available in two models. They are nearly identical, however, the Thorn Razor has additional space under the blade allowing for more skin contact and even closer shave. The Twig Razor is a mild razor best suited for lighter hair growth. The Thorn Razor is a medium razor best suited for coarser or tougher beards
- Precision Shaving: The Twig and Thorn Razor feature a fixed head at an angle that mimics that of a cartridge razor. Unlike a traditional safety razor, which uses a double-edge blade, the Twig and Thorn only feature a single exposed blade allowing for confidence and ease when shaving concave and tight areas
- Maximum Control: Maintain greater control of your shave with the Twig and Thorn Razor’s backweighted handle
- Easy Blade Loading: Confidently replace the blade of the Twig and Thorn Razor with Magnetic Load Assist. Open the blade holder by twisting the bottom of the Twig and Thorn counterclockwise and use the magnet and notches on the blade holder to guide the single-edge blade into place
- Cost-Effective Refills: There are no costly replacement cartridges required with the Twig and Thorn Razor. Instead, refill your razor with any standard safety razor blade. Snap a double-edge safety razor blade in half or load-up with single-edge safety razor blades instead
- Plastic-Free & Eco-Friendly: Achieve a plastic-free shave with greater comfort than a traditional safety razor. The Twig and Thorn Razor are all metal and compatible with stainless steel razor blades. Recycle used blades in Leaf Shave’s Blade Recycling Tin

Nice design, but not a cartridge substitute

- Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2025I have sensitive skin, so I can only do a one pass shave, this is the closest one pass shave I've ever had, I'm using perma-sharp blades for anyone wanting to know
- Reviewed in the United States on February 1, 2025Color: Black - TwigVerified PurchaseShockingly nice shave. It's so smooth I thought I put the blade in wrong and it wasn't working. Could not feel it remove the hair at all. no facial abrasion feel like when you use a disposable. I tried applying more pressure on the second pass. I got a few small cuts; I don't recommend doing that. I truly only needed one pass with this thing. It does have a slight learning curve. Super excited I don't have to purchase cartridges anymore. Very nice razor blades that it comes with. Totally worth your dime. My hair is thin and not coarse for the record.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2025Color: Black - ThornVerified PurchaseBest item I have tried since long time. Very well made. Excellent design. Robust quality. It makes shaving a very enjoyable experience every morning. Also the blades that come with it are excellent. All the best to the company management team for their creativity and innovation as I can see their growth mind set.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2023Color: Rose Gold - TwigVerified PurchaseUpdate: 2/1/23 (5 shaves completed): After using the razor a few times, I'm going to bump this up one more star. My second time shaving I had a small nick and it was pretty unremarkable. But by my third shave, doing a single pass, I managed to shave with zero irritation. It got decently close, but not BBS. I'm pretty satisfied with only a single pass along/cross the grain, since my hair is pretty light colored so you have to be -really- close up to see it when it's that short.
I'll probably try 2 passes with one against the grain and if I can get it without ending up with razor bumps the next day, I'll bump it up to 5*
FIRST TIME:
I've been using multi-razor carts, but I have pretty sensitive skin and get really bad razor bumps 12-18 hours after my shaves. I got this after seeing a lot of hype on youtube from shavers that suggest this would be great to help prevent it.
I decided to do a 'cold shave' since that seems to help with the bumps for me more than a hot shave. I used pre-shave oil and some tallow-based shaving soap
Well my first time, I uh, carved up my neck. First time I've -ever- had to break out the styptic pencil (Ergh.. not a good start!) But I'm optimistic. I had a little rough shave from two days ago and so that might have been part of the problem.
It felt a little odd. Like I couldn't quite find the right angle, maybe I had a bit too much shaving soap on my face, but I couldn't quite tell if I was getting all the hair. My attempt to find the right angles while shaving might also have contributed to the few nicks I got. I did 2 passes, Along the grain, and a second which was more of a mix of Cross and against the grain. The first pass did get it pretty smooth, not too far from using my 7-blade cart. But after the nicks and few drops of blood I donated to the shaving gods, I think I may just stick with going along the grain or cross with one pass until I get the hang of it.
First time I've felt the burning-itch from using my Alum bar so uh. I guess I'll find out tomorrow if I end up broken out and looking like I've contracted a rather undesirable disease.
Shave routine:
Hot or cold towel soak
Pre-shave oil
Tallow-based soap
Cold rinse with an Alum block
Aftershave
post-shave balm
- Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2025Color: Black - TwigVerified PurchaseA very easy shave. I’ve had this razor for a couple of years now and have spent less than $10 on replacement blades after my first 100 pack. I don’t shave every day. I have thick, coarse facial hair. Two days of growth it cuts through easily, 4 days is a struggle and may feel like it’s pulling the hairs.
Pros: shaves very well
Cons:Be careful to make sure that the blade is properly seated or you will cut yourself.

Okay, let’s just back up here and talk about how women shave. If I had the skills to do a video this would be the most popular review on Amazon!
We almost never shave standing up straight in front of a brightly lit sink like a stiff Masonic ritual. We do it in the tub or the shower. Everything is wet and steamy, and there is soap or shaving foam everywhere. We stand and twist, we sit, we lay down. We use our fingers to feel where the hair is, and what direction it’s going because we can’t always see all the little places in our armpits, behind our knees, and between our legs… There are convex and concave parts. The hair varies between newborn baby soft to stiff and bristly over one inch of skin. We have hair in the little soft dip between our bikini area and leg… behind our bikini area threatening to climb onto our bum (absolutely not!)… wire-like hair between our lips… We shave over sweat glands, delicate damp areas, taught tendons, and little callouses on our toes. We shave over hard muscled ridges and over soft velvety hillsides… The hair changes direction in serpentine patterns. Navigation is tight… we can barely reach. We shave under water and behind our back. Strokes are 1/2” long before the handle bumps our thigh. We can’t use ANY pressure on the ankle tendons unless we want to scalp a ribbon of skin away. We go fast! This is the least important part of our day, and someone is waiting on us already. We flip and twirl the razor like a marching band baton. Most of us don’t even know we are doing that, and we certainly don’t brag about it.
We don’t analyze any of this or talk about it in detail together online. We don’t form support groups about ingrown hair or sensitive skin, or the impact of the job with our razor had on our sex life. We will get it done with almost any razor, and don’t expect anyone to compliment us on it while shaking our hand. We are all business. We get it done with the efficiency of a gymnast with a tiny sword. We get it off. If we bleed, lose a patch of skin, or get an ingrown hair we don’t whine about it or blame the razor. We do it differently next time. That is all.
So this razor: I have, and can shave with about anything.
The head: This has the best head on it ever. It’s so narrow and you can get into those little pockets and navigate the landscape of your lady parts like you are on a well-trained 14-hand cow pony separating a calf from its momma. The hair cannot hide! It’s better than the overpriced cartridge razors, the safety razors. It doesn’t loosen up like a butterfly razor. The head on this razor is 10 of 10, but I do need to get good at snapping the razors in half. That’s a new skill.
The handle: A) It’s dang pretty. I like that a lot, but it’s the least important thing. B) It slurps and sloshes big scoops of bathwater. Annoying but forgivable given that slosher design is for the Masonic ritual stand you can buy for it. C) It doesn’t have good positioning/register in the hand. The cylinder and slope is the same along the shaft and you wind up too far up or down the shaft over and over. D) it’s slippery as all f-ing hell, and there is no grip whatsoever in the middle where you hold it while flipping and turning. This is a fine disservice to the self-respecting ladies who would rather be groomed than injured after using a razor. E) the handle has no balance, with all the weight on the bottom. Again, difficult to maneuver and flip, especially with the grip-less center on the shaft, and most especially when wet. It’s very easy to drop, and that is NOT acceptable for a sharp razor.
What to do: I am really torn on this thing. I figure I have four options: 1) Choke up on the handle and hold right behind the head (this is what you find yourself doing automatically with this clunker). 2) Wrap grip tape or vet wrap around the handle. It will be ugly, but it might half fix this thing. 3) Saw the head off and glue it onto something designed for the job, 4) return it. I don’t know yet. I hate returning things because it will wind up in a landfill, but for $60 I am a little insulted to keep it. Undecided…
Frankly I think this is an innovative razor and the company seems really cool. They have just spent way too much time listening to fussy boys. Listen the 99%: we don’t live to shave. We shave and then go live. I can tell you have good designers. Fix that pretty-but-useless handle!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfeito
Robusto e eficiente. De longe o melhor aparelho de barbear que já comprei.
Apesar do preço vale muito a pena, vai durar o resto da vida, só precisa comprar lâminas que são bem mais baratas.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excelente rastrillo de una sola hoja
