I used this on my partners hair to test, he had thick 4c hair. It did take a few passes to get this result. It heats up extremely fast, took about 10 seconds. It makes a beep sound when it turns off and makes another sound when it's fine eating. It doesn't like like you can adjust the heat however. It looks beautiful and you can tell the quality is excellent.

    I purchased this after my last GHD died after 5+ years of use. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. Immediately upon receiving, I turned it on and it appeared to work. When I actually went to use it the next day, it heated up, but then immediately turned off after reaching temperature. All subsequent attempts to turn it on resulted in the same behavior, or it wouldn't even turn on. I returned it to Amazon and purchased a different brand of straightener. After researching GHD more, it appears they sometimes have quality issues, particularly with the thermistor, so it wasn't worth it to me to continue to gamble 100s of dollars.

I'm also using much lower temperature which my stylist says is so much better for my hair. Took off one star for the price.
