With this loft bed you get a complete solution for your child’s room – including desk, wardrobe and open shelf unit.
You can assemble the desk parallel or perpendicula with the bed.
If you choose to assemble the desk perpendicular to the bed, you can access the wardrobe from both sides.
It´s easy to keep sockets and cords out of sight but close at hand with the cable outlet at the back.
To save on our natural resources and make use of as much of the tree as possible, we have used sawmill leftovers and scrap wood in the particle boards for SMÅSTAD.

This is sturdy. Directions were clear and pictures made sense for assembly. It also has proven to be incredibly sturdy.

There are also hooks to go over the sides than can hold backpacks and various other things that our creative kid can come up with!
Perfect loft bed and deskShannonThis bed took my husband and I around 16 hours to put together. The directions were very easy to follow, there were just a lot of pieces to put together. We also bought an IKEA mattress while in store. Everything has met or exceeded our expectations. Our 8-year-old son loves the bed and his desk. I do wish the bed could hold more than 220 pounds, so we could still snuggle him every once in a while, but we just move to the spare bedroom and make it a special occasion. Great work, IKEA!
Easy but can get done! DebraI would recommend you have a helper. Each time you open a box, set the pieces according to the box number so you’re not too confused when assembling. They’ll be a total of 3 manuals— one for the drawers, the bunk, and the closet connecting to the bulk. It took my wife and I about 6 hours to complete we, but definitely worth the buy. It eliminates so much clutter in a kids room by incorporating all items into one piece.

I'm a middle-aged woman and I assembled it 100% by myself (wouldn't recommend). IKEA assembly directions can be confusing, but taking my time to ensure I was using the proper pieces made things go very smoothly.

Great bedElissaGreat bed very sturdy not too hard to put together love all the features that it has. The only thing I would say is the ladder is straight up and down, which does make it a little difficult to climb up and down. If the ladder extend it out, and had a slight slant I would say it’s a perfect bed with storage and desk space. I would like to try and get the ladder out a little so my daughter has an easier time climbing up and down.

Did not feel safe with the height of the bed frames sides over the mattress. Especially since my 9yr old moves around a lot in his sleep. I had to put a bed railing on the side thats not against the wall.

Whats the age limit for this bunk bed?ArianaMy roommate and I are trying to buy this bunk bed for both of us to save on room, but we are both grown men who weigh up to 220-230. We are concerned about the weight limit listed, as it's the max. Would an extra 10 to 20 pounds really make that much of a difference, or does that weight limit include the bed as well? I tried reading the reviews to see if anyone else had this concern as well, but it just seems that everyone is buying this bed for their young kids

What is constructed board?
We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fiberboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
