    My natural nails are just hopeless in the winter... and the spring... and the summer... and the fall... they're thin and brittle and I cannot keep them hydrated for the life of me, especially at my age and in our arid climate. When we get down the single digits in humidity my nails just crack at the slightest impact.

    I usually wear gel polish or tips or press-ons so it's not a problem, but I recently adopted a very mouthy, active puppy so my hands are constantly being chewed on and if he gets a nail off, it's going to be eaten. Within days of adopting him my nails were disintegrating down to nubs.

    To The Rescue arrived just in time to save what's left of my free edges! I've used Essie products for years so I knew I could trust them to deliver results, and they did. TTR goes on like any polish or base coat, dries fairly quickly, and gives my nails a ton of protection while they take a break from gel and all of the associated abuse.

    It chips after a couple of days on me, which isn't bad for my nails (they love to reject regular polish) and since it's a snap to remove and reapply, I don't mind. It's a good match for the natural skin tone of my nailbeds while letting the white of the free edge show. I'm super stoked to add this to my nail care arsenal for when I need to take a break from gel!
