So Happy!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our home is big enough for 3 robot vacs and we have 4 fur babies (2 large and 2 small) and they can bring in dirt, grass and mud when it rains so it is imperative our floor is vacuumed every day. I have previously owned another high dollar brand for years and it worked fine so I thought. You would think for the price a vacuum would automatically go back to its self-emptying, but I was wrong. There were times when it wouldn’t empty or charge. I would get a notice that it wasn’t placed on the charger correctly even after I cleaned the bottom of the vacuum and the charging base. It took several minutes for me to get it to charge. Another issue I had was it would get lost, and I would have to crawl on the floor looking under furniture almost daily. Sometimes it would just stop for no reason and not continue to finish the cleaning cycle. This didn’t happen on one but all 3 of the robot vacs. So, after months of going through this I had enough of this and started researching for a new vacuum and brand. I did research for about a month including reading reviews and watching videos. We decided on the Shark RV2502AE mainly because I liked the two side brushes. Other Shark Self-emptying vacs have only one side brush with air blowing on the other side. We made the purchase and set it up to charge all night. The next morning, I did the explore run and let it map our living room since it is kind of large and blocked off the dining room since I have the Shark VacMop to do that area. When that was done, I set no go zones and then vacuumed. I have used robot vacs for years running them every day but when the Shark Vac finished, I had to look in the self-emptying bin. I was amazed how much it picked up on the max setting since I used the high dollar brand every day. I thought to myself “How could the Shark pick up that much out of the carpet since I vacuumed every day!” So, I turned around and purchased another Shark RV2502AE for the master bedroom, hallway and my office. I like not buying vacuum bags and the filters are washable and easy to find replacements. To clean the vacuum, I have a small blower that can be used to blow the dust and dirt out of it. On the shark website you can purchase a washable pre-motor filter or use the replacements. I like the choices that this vacuum gives you. Some people complain this vacuum is noisy but apparently, they have not heard the brands that I have during vacuuming or emptying. This is a very quiet vacuum even during it self-emptying stage. I can’t say enough about this brand. I own 2 self-emptying, 1 VacMop, 1 steam cleaner all Shark along with kitchen appliances.

First Robot Vacuum
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the first smart vacuum I have owned and so far (3 weeks) very pleased with the results and ease of use I have experienced with it. Opening the box and setup was very easy. The Shark AI comes packaged in layers and requires very little assembly (no tools requires). 2 front facing brushes that are mounted/snapped into place on the front/bottom of the robot and plugging in the power to the charging/base unit is all it takes. There is lots of protective plastic wrap to remove but worth it to prevent post manufacturing scratches. The Shark App is fairly robust in the options available and relatively easy to use and setup. One of the most important items to consider is giving your new vacuum a proper name as you will be asked what you would like to name your new vacuum when setting up your account. Ours is now referred to as Eleanor and she has been a great addition to the family. After setting up your specific criteria for your location and fully charged (takes a few hours) it is time for the initial run. We removed as many obstacles as possible around the house so as to reduce any kind of hangups, problems and to allow for a more thorough scan of the desired areas of the house. It took about 30 minutes for a quick walk through of the house as I would describe it. It was not a full cleaning on the first pass of the house as it was more of an exploratory pass to get a lay of the land. Once this was completed, you have an opportunity to view in the app what was found and fine tune the areas as well as separate, name, schedule and make off limit areas. We have ours setup to clean M,W,F during the week. Originally we had it setup to start around noon but changed it to earlier because of the overall time it took to complete the job each day. She was still cleaning later in the afternoon when we started to arrive home. With the earlier scheduled time, now she has a chance to run through the entire areas before we return home for the day. Right now it takes about 5 hours to complete each days cleaning due to the total square footage requested, in between charging time which is about 2 hours, total times needed to return to the base unit to empty depending on how much dirty is collected each day, and variations to the areas cleaned. We typically empty the base station at the end of each scheduled cleaning day. So far it has not been completely filled. It is more of a way to verify how much is being picked up. A quick side note: Eleanor has done some wondering off the beaten path (inadvertently found an extra room) due to a child gate that was not fully installed and Eleanor found her way into the room after knocking the gate over and getting stuck in the room but only after cleaning it. She had to be rescued and returned to the charging unit that afternoon. We now make sure the gate is installed fully on the days we don't want her to clean that room. Additionally, we have a dog that now has some entertainment during the day as Eleanor makes her cleaning passes through the house. Overall: Great job of reducing the buildup of dog fur and kid dirt throughout the house. The noise level is significantly lower compared to a traditional vacuum while cleaning except for when it is emptying itself which would be more compatible to the levels of a traditional vacuum but only for about 10-20 seconds while emptying. Make sure to check the filters regularly and clean as needed. As with any vacuuming job, there are going to be areas that are not going to be vacuumed unless you move obstacles out of the way. So, if you are looking to get the best cleaning coverage you will need to set chairs up, remove or pickup items from the floor that could get in the way just as you might when manually vacuuming.

Awesome for pet owners with hardwood floors
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great mapping and amazing at handling dust bunnies on hard wood floors from pets! Highly recommend for pet homes. May have difficulties on longer carpet but is able to traverse area rugs just fine. However, if you don’t have a wifi connection you miss out on many of it key features.

Great vacum, practical, great app setup
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great product. The mapping of the house is perfect, I can select separate rooms and/or small areas to clean at a time. App works perfectly to set it to clean from anywhere you are. The battery doesn’t last super long, but it goes to the dock when it’s low, charges and goes back to cleaning on its own. Would highly recommend. I do recommend measuring your furniture before buying if you want it to clean underneath it, though.

Daily Choices
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I freely love my dog again now that David Wallace is on the scene! DW is the name of my fabulous new Shark robot vacuum. Getting the app and the vac to sync due to my backwater Internet was the hardest thing about setup, and even that didn't take too long. Since then, I open the app at work and send David Wallace on cleaning missions. I make sure the dog toys are put away on my way through the house when i leave for the day, so I run him through the living room first thing. I could never keep up with the dog hair problem until now! I love this. Matrix clean even allows me and my OCD to witness the cleaning, though i prefer not to. I'm so glad I opened that Best Buy email advertising a sale (on another brand's vac). I used the compare feature and am so very happy with this purchase. With such clean floors, I'm probably going to be doing a lot more yoga. Or eat the odd M&M that may fall to the floor. It's about the choices we make every day.

Less hassel and works better than other vacuums
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The vacuum emptying itself is gamechanger. We don't have to worry about it clogging itself up and breaking down all the time. Picks up tons of hair and the bin is easy to empty without making a mess. It appears to do more a thorough job than both our previous irobot and eufy vacuums.

Q: QuestionThe specs say it is 3.5 inches tall. Is that correct? I need the robot to go under furniture.
Asked by vac83.
- A:Answer The shark will go under some furniture, but it is limited. Floors under low couches or chairs don't work. Also, stools and chairs less that about a foot between the legs will also not work. This machine first maps the floor space in your house, which takes a few hours. After that you can program it to clean the entire house or individual rooms, as needed. It can be controlled from your phone with the downloadable app. The biggest issue I've found is with pet hair. We have a golden retriever that sheds a lot. The robot manual says that you should clean the brush rollers periodically. It doesn't say that the "error 2, obstruction" can occur when pet hair fouls the brush roller. This is easy to clean out, but it is not "an obstruction" and the manual is not really clear on this. We spent days trying to fix the obstruction error, thinking that it was an issue with the "feeler" brushes getting stuck. Once we cleared the brush roller, the light dawned. Once we'd figured that out, the Shark has worked perfectly. If you have animals or very deep pile carpeting or if you sew a lot (thread lost on the floor), I'd recommend that you clean the brush roller after every two or three uses. Doing this maintenace takes about as much time as emptying and replacing the dust bag in a regular vacuum. Hope that that helps.

Q: QuestionDoes the app work without using the overly invasive alexa and google garbage if you don't need voice? Can you use the app for mapping without using google or alexa connected in any manner?
Asked by EECONS.
- A:Answer You can use successfully with just the app- no need to use Alexa or Google devices
Answered by Baw27
Q: QuestionWOW Awesome Can you please help me with what is the actual run time. Confuse with below- Up to 120 minutes of runtime for whole-home cleaning. And with Recharge and Resume, the robot will return to the dock, recharge, and can pick up where it left off
Asked by JJV.
- A:Answer 120 minutes is how much you might be able to get under optimal conditions assuming a battery that's close to brand new, a wide open room with nothing for the robot to get stuck on, and a floor that's already clean enough that it doesn't need to ramp up the suction for targeted cleaning. In other words, it's probably more than you'll get in day to day use. I wouldn't be that concerned about it though. The biggest advantage to having a robot with active navigation like this is that it knows where it was when it ran out of battery. So when it gets low it stops, returns to its dock, then picks up where it left off once it's gotten enough charge to finish the job. So long as it doesn't end up cut off from its charging base by a closed door or the like, it can stick with a cleaning job more or less indefinitely.

Q: QuestionMy shark vacuum keeps stopping after just a few seconds of cleaning. And says error number two. I have replace the brushes and tried to get it going again with no luck can you help?
Asked by Debi.
- A:Answer This is a common problem. First issue: do you have long haired pets? If so, your problem is common. The brushes that you see on the front of the machine are for finding obstructions as it navigates its work space, such as a couch that has been moved. The usual cause of error 2 is that pet hair (or thread or yarn, if you sew or knit) has gotten spooled onto the roller brush in the middle of the machine's underside. It is easy to check, as the cover can be easily removed and the roller taken out. the hair or yarn will be wound around one end of the roller. Remove this, put the roller and cover back in place, and clear the error. The machine should work fine. To keep this from happening again, check the roller every two or three times that the machine is used.

Q: QuestionI have a two story home. Can it be used on both floors and does it support multi floor mapping?
Asked by Bob.
- A:Answer Thank you for your interest in the Shark AI Robot Vacuum. You do have the option to manually move the robot to another level in your home to clean however at this time it does not offer multi-floor mapping.

Q: QuestionMy shark AI cleans a few rooms and when it’s battery gets to 50% it returns to recharge? Why? Shouldn’t it clean the entire house unless the battery goes to let’s say 10%? Why 50% ? This will take forever to vacuum the house.
Asked by Sparky.
- A:Answer Mine does exactly the same thing. I have checked the entire app and cannot find a setting to make it vacuum longer. However, once it gets back to the charger you can send it back out to clean again. I have an Android phone and I was wondering if in the Iphone app you can change these recharge levels. That is one of the few complaints I have about this Vacuum. It is great otherwise.
