The 21-track double album is truly career spanning, and showcases scintillating versions of beloved songs like "Bloodbuzz Ohio," "Don't Swallow the Cap," "I Need My Girl," "The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness," “England” and "Fake Empire"; plus sharpened readings of recent tracks "Eucalyptus," "New Order T-Shirt," "Tropic Morning News" and the boundary-pushing "Smoke Detector." The National’s setlist changes significantly show to show, revisiting their 25-year catalog to cast fresh light on hidden gems.     Great band, but I prefer my live albums to be complete, warts and all. The album is missing Conversation 16, Deep End, Day I Die, Space Invader, and About Today. I would’ve knocked off 1 star for missing songs, but at least 3 of these are AMAZING, so it is a shame they aren’t included.

    Direkt Gänsehaut zum Start mit Runaway, dann leichte Irritationen beim weiteren ersten Hören : Der Klang ist irgendwie komisch : Bei manchen Liedern singen Fans vereinzelte Textpassagen mit, als ob die Lieder direkt aus dem Publikum heraus aufgenommen wurden - später werden das meine Lieblingspassagen :-)
    Die Lieder sind etwas kantiger und eckiger als auf den Studioalben, das macht die ohnehin aussergewöhnlichen Songs noch besser ! Bei zwei Liedern gibt es zum Ende hin leichte Tempoverschärfungen, das ist einfach nur großartig.
    Seit dem Kauf im Dezember höre ich das Album fast täglich einmal durch und entdecke immer wieder neue Merkmale.
    Ein Geniestreich !
