I'm not a hammock expert, but this is exactly what we were looking for--a well made hammock that wasn't hundreds of dollars, which is probably what you'd have to spend to get a spreader bar-style hammock of similar quality and comfort. My girlfriend, who has a broken foot, is sleeping peacefully in it as we speak. It cradles either of us (5'11" and 5'9") quite well, with effortless support and a cool, soft feel. The size is just right, very ample for one and somewhat cozy for two (a stretch for two lying lengthwise, but possible).
Since we didn't have trees far enough apart in the backyard, we paired it with a particular cypress arc stand from another retailer that is compatible with Mayan hammocks. There aren't very many South American hammock stands online, so if you don't have the right tree setup and aren't prepared to install posts, keep that in mind. We preferred wood to metal stands, as it felt silly to pair a beautiful hammock with a pedestrian-looking stand.
The hammock arrived in two days. Coupled with the free 2-3 day shipping upgrade (from Mexico) summer promotion, this is a no-brainer. All told we got a gorgeous hammock setup for around $300 shipped, and this wonderful hammock gave us room to spend more on the stand. It's going to be a lazy rest of the summer out on the patio.

Sadly it’s just not comfortable.
Maybe because I can’t widen the mounting points but the center when you sit in it is super tight. It doesn’t hug you like the other hammocks I’ve had in this space. It is STUNNING though and really love the look of it and it’s totally the vibe I wanted for my patio. I do love the white main strings and the taupe netting which looks really high end but sadly just just not comfy enough to keep. I really hate the look of the cheap white canvas ones but they are at least comfortable. My husband also got his back pocket snagged the first time he tried it but to be expected I guess with mesh. So sad I’d live with snagging if it was comfortable. Bummed.

I love this hammock, and recommend it to everyone. I bought kammock python straps and a couple of carabiners, and I keep those and the hammock in my office in a little duffel backpack (it folds up about the size of a rain jacket and doesn't get tangled). I am a PhD student and often have to do a lot of reading, so I'll load the articles on my kindle and take my hammock down to this convenient spot on campus, where I can throw it up in moments and be reading in the breeze in absolute comfort. Other students always come by to tell me they are jealous of it and ask what kind it is (most people have those dark-colored fabric hammocks, which look stuffy to me, especially when contrasted with this one). The attached photo was taken by a passerby touring the campus actually, who thought I looked so comfortable he had to stop (he then alerted me to get my permission and that's how I got the photo).
Perfectly transportable ultimate comfort hammock

My office mate and I will take breaks to go outdoors and lie in my hammock. It is perfect for two, or even three, people, and is perfectly comfortable width-wise or length-wise.
One of my favorite things about it is the way you can use the support of the individual strings to your advantage; if you set your arm out to the side and shift your weight, the hammock actually creates arm/head rests, so you are never at an uncomfortable angle or left with too much/too little support. The strings are so close together that there are no gaps unless you intentionally make them; I imagine you could like on it naked and not have a pattern on your skin (have not tried this though). In addition, the way the sun streams through it is just beautiful. You will not regret buying it, and I personally think it makes a wonderful gift to others.
