Product Description

American Heritage
Personna was the first company to introduce safety razors in the US. In 1875, the Kampfe brothers patented the first safety razor. This new concept provided an ideal shaving angle and revolutionized the way we shave.

Classic Shave
This classic method is the origin of all men’s disposable razors and razor systems. But, the resurgence of safety razors with double edge blades isn't just a trend. There are many benefits to this traditional method. Replacing blades without plastic cartridges has a lesser environmental impact.

Legacy and Innovation
At Personna, we're proud of our legacy. For the last 135 years, we lead the way in wet shaving. We still produce the sharpest and most durable blades. We're committed to innovation and quality. We strive to deliver on the original promise in the spirit of the Kampfe brothers.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2015Got into the DE razor culture after getting my head shaved by one at a local barber. Used a Merkur 34c with a newly received untested pack of Personnas, and prior to this, I was using the Van der Hagen brand stocked at Wal-Mart (an average German razor experience with no frills, but gets the job done). The shave was different, smoother with less tug and burn, and it is enjoyable. I can't say for certain how many shaves I get from each razor because my variable of wear is over a wider area (head), so it may only be 2-3 shaves per razor (depending on if I just change after every shave at 13 bucks a box. In the grand scheme of things, it's a good set of American made blades that assumingly have a history in razors (hence their foot in the medical field too) which calls for a set of standards and quality I need in a razor. People say day in and day out that everybody's skin is different and that every razor suits only a certain face, the truth be told... As long as you buy a commercial product and not one made in a back alley from rusty hammered down nails, you'll most likely enjoy the shave.
Another variable is history, if the blades in question have a long history in the razor business, they're doing something right and their razors are intended for a general audience instead of the "picky sensitive woman skin many manly shaving snobs complain about." Technique plays a vital role to shaving too, if you get nicks and cuts constantly and blame the blades, more than likely it's you and NOT the blades if others don't have the same issues you do (NOT the ones who give negative reviews, of which you get little but it speaks volumes of bias to those without the experience of the blade in question.) Blades are blades, if you know what you're doing, you get a good shave with a good brand, end of story.
These blades are good for the price, they're not FEATHERS, but then again having the sharpest tool in the shed isn't the best sometimes when your dealing with areas close to arteries and there is room for mistakes. These blades shave smooth and that's what counts for an enjoyable shave.
Will be making a regular staple of the bathroom arsenal alongside my Astras because the prices allow me to stock up.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 13, 2014Recently I got very frustrated with shaving. EXTREMELY frustrated, in fact. Over the course of the last several years I have picked up various "razors." All of them were multi-blades. The replacement blade cartridges were extremely expensive, and getting more so. If my wife bought me blades while she was out shopping, she might get the wrong ones. They are so expensive it sometimes made sense to just buy a new handle. But then one has multiple handles floating around the house. If I bought blades again there was a good chance I had a handle that fit them, but sometimes I didn't. The plastic mechanisms that held the razor handles to the blades frequently broke and therefore the entire razor needed replacing. I None of the blades were universal. I felt manufacturers were involved in a scheme to milk me for as much money as possible. I was getting sick and tired of it. Plus, it was ruinous for the environment.
Someone mentioned an old school safety razor to me online, and I thought "there's an idea." The first product I looked for was these blades. I saw the cost, read the reviews, and saw they were made in the US. I nearly danced a jig! I buy American whenever I can in the vain attempt to preserve the middle class and our way of life. It's a losing battle, of course. But I'll fight it to the end. I decided I'd make the leap.
I found a German made double bladed safety razor at a reasonable price, and bought it and these blades together. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to get the Merkur safety razor together with the blades, but I did it. I began shaving.
It took a little getting used to. You have to figure out the angle, and one's approach to shaving changes a bit. This takes a couple of days. HOWEVER, once the process is over you get a significantly closer shave than anything plastic, cheap, and made by slave labor provides. The shave is very close. The blades? They last a week. I spent this much on 5 or 6 plastic multi-blade garbage cartridges. That's about 5 or 6 weeks. These blades will last me years! The cost savings is IMMENSE.
The razor itself is metal and durable. My son who is eight could probably inherit it. The blades are cheap. The shave is better. The blades are made in the US. Multiblades are for suckers.
I'll never go back.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, Smooth, American Made!
The blade is very smooth, one of the smoothes yet shape.
It did not give me any cuts or nicks, I used alum block to check at end.
It is American made and the quality of blade is right there with German Merkur blades. Much much better than Parker, Russian or south asian or Egyptian blades .
Next to Merkur this is my new favorite blade, Merkur is 3 times as expensive so this is a good deal!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ottime lamette
