Ive never owned a food brush before for baking or cooking so I figured for only a few bucks id give it a try.
I dont bake. I could burn freezer premade cookies. Ya im not a baker. Too many exact measurements and too much science for me lol
On the other hand I can COOOOOOOK 😍
I just got an airfryer basket style one and I wanted to do wings in it but i wanted to brine the chicken wings (coat in oil and kosher salt to seal in flavor and juices to keep it moist as it cooked). I used this brush to make the most PERFECTLY coated chicken wings that cooked to perfection by using this.
I had olive oil in a bowl then i dropped in about 10 to 15 wings tossed the bowl slightly then as I pulled each out to put into the airfryer basket i used the brush to coat every inch of the chicken wings with olive oil to ensure an even coating on all of them. Once all into the airfryer i used sprinkled kosher salt in the tops and used the brushes bottom bristles to dab the salt to evenly cover the wings.
I cooked them on 365 for 12 minutes in the air fryer then I used tongs and flipped them so all the chicken wings yummy juices that went to the bottom were now upside down working their way back up to the top. I then sprinkled kosher salt onto the bottoms that got flipped face up now and used the brush to evenly move the salt around (makes it so you dont burn your fingers doing it by hand). Then they went back in still on 365 in the airfryer to finish cooking
While they were finishing up I cleaned and sanitized the brush since it had been on raw chicken and now the chicken would be cooked. I didnt want any cross contamination for my 5 kids / family of 7.
When i pulled them out I took the brush and added more olive oil from a new clean bowl and used the brush to put a very thin light layer of olive oil onto the cooked chicken wings.
Finally I had everyone pick whatever wing sauce they wanted. I chose garlic parm. So i put a medium drizzle of garlic parm wing sauce onto my olive oil coated (very lightly coated - they were NOT greasy at all) chicken wings and finished up this delightful meal by using the brush to coat all sides, cracks, & crevises with my wing sauce so id have sauce in every bite without having to drown the wings in sauce to acheive a completely sauced chicken wing.
This brush is fantastic. I soooo see myself buying another.
I love thinking outside of the box when cooking like I did by turning an ordinary pastry brush into the best ever chicken wing utensil
1st Picture is the finished garlic parm chicken wings I made by using this brush.
The 2nd picture I used the brush to evenly coat these muffin holes to make my own version of Starbucks copycat egg cups. I used to use a paper towl to oil baking trays or muffin pans but it absorbed and wasted so much oil. This pastry brush coated it all quickly allowing me to use less oil because none was soaked up by a paper towel.
Yes im in love with my pastry brush. Its the little things in life like a paintbrush / pastry brush that i can multipurpose use 😂
Highly reccomend this brush it spreads amazing and so evenly!

a waste of my time. It ruined a very special cake and the cost of that was a lot more than several of this poorly made brush. Plus the metal around it after just lightly washing before using turned black.
