Product Description
Product Description
Our Flexible Turner has a flexible spring-steel head, perfect for flipping fish filets or omelets while keeping these delicate foods intact. Also great for lifting cookies off a cookie sheet without breaking them.
Amazon.com
So utilitarian, it just may become the baker's best friend. With a thin, flexible stainless-steel head, this turner slides easily under foods--from freshly baked cookies to bubbling pancakes, and even a reluctant croquette--and keeps them intact. The handle is made of sturdy, stainless-steel double rods, and the turner head is limber yet tough. The Good Grips line features durable, nonslip flexible handles on every product. Ergonomically designed to fit the palm comfortably and softly, the pressure-absorbing processed rubber handle puts less tension on the hands, while providing an outstanding grip. Made from the same material as dishwasher gaskets are constructed of, the handles are slip-proof, wet or dry, as well as dishwasher-safe. Good Grips products are moderately priced and have won the Tylenol/Arthritis Foundation Design Award. --Laurie Notaro

1. It's very flexible, very thin, and slightly curved at the front edge. These attributes make it effortless to slide under food in a pan and especially helpful in getting under something that goes right to the edge of a pan - like an omelet.
2. The grip is wide and comfortable.
3. It's not too long, allowing more control. I find this helpful when flipping something delicate.
4. It is the perfect complement to my All-Clad omelet pans and my large iron frying pan.
5. Since it's steel, it doesn't introduce plastic chemicals into the food!
The ONLY thing this doesn't do extremely well is press a sandwich. Since it flexes up, it's not especially firm when pressing the back against something below it. I find this a small matter because I press with the area where the spatula is welded to the handle. It's firm enough there.
The bad news is it's so thin that it's tempting to use the tip for light cutting and chopping in the skillet. Those spot welds held up for 11 months with this abuse, but one side has now broken loose. Used correctly, this turner will undoubtedly last many years.
The good news is I've just discovered there are two sizes, so both are coming tomorrow!
3 reasons not to cut and chop with the thin/sharp tip.
You weaken the spot welds.
Even in ceramic-type nonstick skillets, you can scratch or mar the surface when it slips.
There is tension on the blade, so you will flip food across the room more than once.
The spot weld issue notwithstanding, this turner is one of the best tools I've ever owned. I like it so much I'd take time out of my day to make a review on Amazon about it. Highly recommended for people who cook food in a skillet. (bulldozer enthusiasts, pass this one by)

Ultra Thin and flexible. Not for lifting heavier items as flexibility can cause slippage but perfect for my requirements
