Jockstrap on Tour

Lest you think that Jockstrap is just a bunch of frat boys having a good time, we can assure you that couldn't be further from the truth. The experimental London-based duo creates refreshingly original, complex pop electronica that always surprises. Comprising singer/songwriter/violinist Georgia Ellery and electronic producer Taylor Skye, Jockstrap released their debut album, I Love You Jennifer B, in September of 2022. Dubbed "the visionary duo behind one of 2022's greatest albums" by renowned British music magazine NME, Jockstrap creates sophisticated indie pop songs that are nearly impossible to categorize. While melodic electronic pop might come close, rave, hip-hop and techno also find their way into the mix.

I Love You Jennifer B was four years in the making and is the culmination of all the styles the duo has been experimenting with over the years. It followed on the heels of several well-received EPs, including their debut effort, Love is the Key to the City, in 2018. With a vocal style and an unusual flair for the unexpected reminiscent of Regina Spektor, Ellery's captivating vocals keeps listeners engaged and curious to hear more. Known for their joyous live shows that go against the grain of many experimental bands, get ready to be surprised and delighted when they make their way across the UK and North America during their next tour.

Jockstrap Live in Concert

Georgia Ellery and Taylor Skye met at London's Guildhall School of Music & Drama in 2016. They were both raised far from the English capital, encouraged by their respective parents to play music from the time they were very young. Ellery was raised in the coastal town of Cornwall, encouraged by her music therapist mother to play violin from the age of 5. What began as an obsession with classical music later turned into a passion for house music and weekend raves.

Skye also came from a musical family. His parents met while working as musical theater actors in London's West End, and encouraged their son to play piano. He later graduated to creating sounds and beats with a laptop he was given by his father as a teenager, reimagining tracks from his favorite producers including Skrillex and Flux Pavilion.

When they each moved to London at the age of 18 to pursue music education, it opened up a whole new world of possibilities for them. They were both in the same composition class and were aware of each other's work before they officially met and began collaborating on a series of demos. Their debut EP, Love is the Key to the City, soon followed, and they were offered a deal on Warp Records by the time their second EP, Wicked City, came out in 2020.
