About

COURTNEY BARNETT IN CONCERT:

Australian alt-rock up-and-comer Courtney Barnett is quickly making a name for herself with her witty lyrics and deadpan vocal delivery. Fans of clever wordplay and surprising lyrical juxtaposition will find much to love in jangly gems like "Avant Gardener" and "History Eraser", and Barnett's performance style -- a mixture of shambling ease and surprising precision -- perfectly complements the complex personality she reveals through her music. Barnett is still a relative newcomer, but she's already generated significant excitement for future tour dates with pitch-perfect performances at  showcases around the world.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born in Melbourne, Barnett attended the Tasmanian School of Art before returning to her hometown to pursue music full-time. After a stint playing with The Dandy Warhol's Brent DeBoer in a band called Union, she made her EP debut in 2012 with I've Got a Friend Called Ferris. She quickly followed up with her full-length debut album How to Carve a Carrot into a Rose, garnering a Best New Music nod from Pitchfork and hitting the road for extensive touring. In late 2013 she caught the eye of Rolling Stone and The New York Times with her performances at the CMJ Music Marathon, with both outlets naming her one of the festival's standout acts. A bright young talent with a diamond-sharp wit, Barnett has fans eagerly awaiting her next tour dates.

    Blown away. Again.

by Oliver Paul on 10/19/23The Atlantis - Washington

Instrumental first set was one of the most amazing musical experiences of my life. Seen CB 7 times now, and every time she blows me away.

    So engaging

by DriverOfTheScrew on 9/16/22House of Blues Boston - Boston

We saw Courtney at the House Of Blues in Boston and were blown away with her and her band's performance. The sounds was incredible, the energy was high and sustained. Courtney Barnett is even better live than she is on studio albums. A true musician!

I had never seen Courtney Barnett play before but liked the songs I had heard on the radio so thought I’d check out this gig. I wasn’t disappointed. It was amazing and I was with her all the way. Perfect venue and perfect crowd. Loved every minute

    Great artist, great show!

Cheaper tickets in the group pricing meant I could bring along a bunch of friends who were not planning to go, love that.

Thank you for the refund. I'm sure we all were disappointed that the show had to be cancelled.

    disappointed & distressed

by sad on 7/31/22Skyline Stage at the Mann - Philadelphia

samia was incredible but we never saw either of the openers! The Mann was not very communicative while we waited out the incliment weather—we waited for around 2 hours until they told us the show was cancelled. There has been no communication about rescheduling or refunding the show (or not) but we've been asked to leave a review so... I'm a huge Lucy & Courtney fan...just wanted to hear them play.

    Show cut short

by Gmbjr on 7/31/22Skyline Stage at the Mann - Philadelphia

Opening act wasnt bad. During switchover, we were sent to pavilian due to severe weather alert. It was 7:20. We were stuck in the pavilion until at 8:40 it started a nice storm. The storm moved out, and we hear nothing until the cancellation announcement at 9:30 "All weather event" I gave 2 stars because i was having fun for a little while.

Concert was cancelled due to violent storm in Philaddlphia

by Sheryl on 7/31/22Skyline Stage at the Mann - Philadelphia

We were corralled under cover to ride out storm about 45 min. Then stood in informal lines 25 minutes while stage, sound, lighting was being checked. Then we were ushered out as Courtney was cancelled. Her Feb 3 concert at The Met Philadelphia was also cancelled. Expecting another refund.

The show was canceled due to thundersorms. .

by Oat on 7/31/22Skyline Stage at the Mann - Philadelphia

The show did not happen. There were thunderstorms. We sat under the pavilion for an hour. We were released to walk around at 930 but skyline was still closed. Then we’re dismissed. I’m hoping they refund or honor these tickets for another show.
