I have owned various Dyson and Shark models in recent years and many vacuums for the past 30 years and this one not only my new favorite but the best one all time.
Pros:
Very little maintenance- this is a big deal as most vacuums require time spent removing the roller and fighting all of the hair and anything else that has wound onto the roller. A lot of vacuums claim to have a design that prevents tangles but the Tineco has one that actually works. Every time I look at it I am amazed there is nothing, I mean nothing to clean off the roller.
Design- The vacuum tube has nothing to cause snags. What I mean by this is when you look down the tube that connects the roller to the motor it is just an empty round tube with no bumps or narrowing. Some Shark models have obstructions used to store wiring components that narrow the tube diameter at one end which causes a ton of clogging. That is a major Shark design flaw which has frustrated me many times as the whole tube would be filling with dirt.
The plunger to remove the dirt is awesome. No more digging your hand in to clean out the bin. Just plunge and go. I will never bust another vacuum without this feature.
The auto speed control is ingenious. The machine can sense more dirt being collected and increases power until the dirt collection returns to normal levels. The display is also nice as you can visually see it increase speed going from blue to red gradients when more power is needed. Just amazing!
The charging station- well designed to hold the extra tools and will charge both the battery in the vacuum and the one plugged directly into the base. I highly recommend the two battery version. More to come on that point.
Most importantly it cleans the floors well. I have a big carpeted area on our lower level and the remaining house is hardwood floors with areas rugs. There are no roller changes. Just vacuum and most everything gets picked up and very clean.
Cons:
In the auto mode the regular suction is not as strong as some other vacuums. This is good and bad. One this saves on battery life, but at the expense of picking up stuff. I would say that I need to rollover the area sometimes more that I would with other vacuums to get everything clean.
It is not the best at picking up big items or heavy particles. For example it struggled with popcorn kernels and just ok with Cheerios. Weirdly it was good at picking up pine needles from our Christmas tree.. I had other vacuums fail at this before, mostly getting clogged in the tube. If you turn off auto you can vacuum at the high speed all of the time but that will wear down the battery life quickly.
The price is high but you are paying for a high quality product I personally think is just better than Dyson.
In summary this vacuum will clean all of your floors well, super ease to maintain and clean, and the features like the snag free roller, plunge dirt removal, auto speed are incredible. If you have a small apartment then you could get the one battery version, but I highly recommend the two battery version with the storing station. I have a 2800 sq ft home and I need both batteries to finish the job with little to charge spare. This vacuum is a joy to use and I high recommend making this your go to vac.
