I've been waiting for a charcoal like this! I am allergic to petroleum, it stops my breathing. So to find a charcoal with no Petroleum in it is great. I'm not very experienced with using charcoal or grilling in a grill. So I expected to have trouble getting it to light. But I followed the directions on the package to use some Tumbleweed or kindling and it started right up. It didn't take long for the coals to get hot with white ash on them. They stayed nice and hot and cooked our burgers perfectly. They even stayed hot long enough for us to eat and then cook S'mores. It was a wonderful experience. The only "criticism" I can give is maybe the packaging. It wasn't really very heavy but very bulky for me.

Excellent charcoal with NO petroleum

I really like this charcoal more than others I have tried. My bag was full of large pieces. I like that it has more of a grey color and doesn't seem to leave as much dust or residue. I found that it burned evenly and gave my food a good flavor. I think I will start buying this brand from now on

Royal Oak All Natural Hardwood Lump Charcoal, is the best so far, it last longer and the meat taste great. I love the smoke flavor it give to the meat and veggies, really the best for the price!

Great to cook

I love this charcoal it takes a minute to light however a little goes along way. And it does not taste like most charcoal briquettes, you can tell it is made from real hard wood.

Best charcoal in my opinion!

One of the best charcoals for your smoker or grill. I use them every time I use my smoker.

The charcoal burn, super slow and allowed to have to make a brisket over 18 and 20 hours. I'll definitely purchase this again.

Slow burn consist of heat

I know there is a big difference in brands and types of charcoal. Some are quick lighting, some are mesquite smoke, some are just plain charcoal that you add your own wood chips to. I was totally amazed at this particular one though! Right from the start it lit like a dream. After a few minutes the fire was too hot to even get close to putting the grill on! After waiting about 30 minutes I was able to put the grill over the fire and add the ribs and sausage. I closed the lid and smoke billowed out! It was perfect! I soon realized I had double the amount I needed (note to self for next time.)

Overall, this is absolutely the only kind of charcoal I will buy in the future!

The absolute BEST!

The bag is surprisingly lightweight which made it easy for me to get in/out of my shopping cart. I've never used this type of charcoal before so I was excited to try it. The hardwood charcoal lights easy and burns well. It is ready to use for grilling rather quickly as compared to the charcoal briquettes. I highly recommend the Royal Oak All Natural Hardwood Charcoal!

Great lump charcoal burns a little fast but good heat. Clean burn, fast lighting.
