I bought this basket to use as a charcoal basket for my smoker. I read a few posts on how to make build charcoal baskets and saw someone provided a link to this specific basket. I made a few modifications to it to fit it to the firebox and it allows for the charcoal to burn hotter and much longer. I use the handle to stir the charcoal and wood on long burns and also to move the basket around in the firebox depending on the temperature I need. I'm not sure how long the material will hold up with the temperatures its being exposed to, but so far it does its intended job very well! Very happy with this purchase!

The other thing we like about this one is its non-stick coating. Soak in hot soapy water for just a few minutes, and it comes clean very easily. Cleaning our old basket was a nightmare, but this one is a breeze. Big improvement!!

Two issues - The handle doesn't attach so the basket can shift when it is full and heavy. Also, the gaps at the corners allow smaller veggies to fall thru when stirring. The solution is to cut bigger pieces but onions still seem to make it thru the gaps. I would recommend looking for a better model.

It appears to be constructed well enough to hold up to the heat and shaking / mixing around of the foods within the basket. I'm also hoping that since the metal comes all the way around the handle that the heat is not transferred into it as it is not covered in any way to protect hands from the heat...but you can always consider a grilling mitt as another gift!

Much easier and less messy than skewers...and nothing actually touches the grill. A must have for vegetarians that miss that BBQ option. Only complaint is that you can't dump the contents. A little difficult because the handle is detachable and it slips when you try to tip. Easy to deal with compared with the pros of having one of these. FYI...always use some sort of cooking spray before grilling. Any basket is a pain to clean when things get stuck or burnt on.
