- Reviewed in the United States on August 1, 2024This cookbook is amazing. From high altitude tips to all the insights, it even touches base on the essential tools needed to be successful in the kitchen. I love how it goes over the various ingredients she has found makes a difference! I have made some wonderful treats for family and friends. Whether you know your way around the kitchen or you’re a novice, these recipes are top notch. ❤️❤️❤️
- Reviewed in the United States on November 26, 2023Since I live at about the same altitude as the author, I decided to try some of her recipes in her blog. I was so impressed with her recipes, how easy they were to make and how delicious, I ordered the book. I am so happy that I found this book. The recipes have worked perfectly for me.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2019I live in Colorado and always struggle with cakes that rise too fast and then collapse in the oven! I got fed up and looked for a high altitude cook book. I saw Pie in the Sky first, but some reviews said how confusing the book was and nobody wants to have to turn the page with flour hands to get to the rest of the recipe!! I went with this book and am so glad! It is absolutely amazing!!! I have made the vanilla cupcakes, chocolate cupcakes, orange poppy seed (substituted chia seeds) muffins, and the short bread cookies. Every time they came out 100% perfect and zero problems. I have a gas oven and find either a slightly higher temp or a few mins longer works best. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

- Reviewed in the United States on January 1, 2024Rather than try to convert any of my mother's cookie recipes, I bought this since the seniors on the Christmas Tree Tags wanted good Christmas cookies. I made the Shortbread and Shortbread dipped in chocolate recipes and they turned out great. I will be making them again next year. Given the changes needed and chance of failure, I doubt I'll try converting any.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 5, 2021This is my go-to book for recipes that always turn out beautifully. I’ve lived at sea level most of my life. 10 years ago we moved to 6,500 feet above sea level, and none of my favorite recipes worked anymore! I’ve found many new favorites in this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 3, 2021I LOVE this cookbook! Who knew recipes could come out so beautifully on the first try? No more tweaking recipes and multiple fails until you've got it right. Nicole has taken all the guesswork and uncertainty out of high altitude baking, and every recipe I've tried is delicious. Best $20 I've ever spent!

- Reviewed in the United States on March 22, 2023It is a beautiful cookbook with lots of pretty photos. The oatmeal, white chocolate & cranberry cookies came out just perfect so I ventured on to the Gingerbread loaf. I followed the recipe to the letter, and was so excited to take the beautiful loaf out of the oven. The first photo is about 5 minutes after coming out of the oven. The second one is about two hours later. It fell. The middle fell about an inch. I live just under 6,000 feet which is really close to Denver’s elevation, so these recipes should not have needed any adjustments.
I am not going to try a cake recipe in here because of the bad results with the gingerbread loaf.
I had high hopes this cookbook would work for me. I am returning it. So disappointed.
