That being said, they are very light, fit the hand well, and cut thin materials quite well, being suited to such work more than heavy stems (or Bonsai for that matter). The spring pops in and out of coil bind with each stroke, with the outside pair of 3rd turns popping on and off the handle pegs. An annoying, if not critical issue, but it really ruins what would otherwise be a surprisingly nice feel. It can probably be eliminated with a little hand tuning, but that shouldn't be needed at this price point. Worth about half the price I paid, but that's only my initial opinion, I'll report back if they impress me beyond what appearances indicate. I'd keep looking unless you want lightweight scissors with an annoying catch in the action. Too bad, the fit and finish are good if not for the poorly fitted spring and being marketed as something they are not. The nice blade quality and finish is well suited to cutting aluminum foil, paper or cellophane for floral arrangement work, but not for cutting the flower stems or any plant material thicker than a leaf stem. A bit long for trimming buds, as I think they are expecting that as a possible market.
They lost a star for "ease of use" for the annoying spring, one from "easy to lock" as the bail is too tight, and locks fairly easily, but the deep grooves and lack of additional travel make it difficult to release, again something that may be easily repairable, but I shouldn't have to pull out a file at this price point. On "ergonomics", we lose a star because of both of the above issues. I'm going to fix them up and use them for light work, it's ok for me, I don't mind the small project, but many users may not be able, or care to, do the required work to tune them up.
Bottom line, not junk, but not marketed as what it actually is, poor QC and a high price point are a deal breakers for me. Too bad too, it just misses on so many counts and has nice well ground blades. Too bad they didn't use them a while before writing the copy and they could have fixed both the ergo issues for almost no cost. A few cents for a screw and nylock nut would extend their service life significantly by allowing user adjustments.
Just misses the mark.
Edit: Spent the day with them after about 10 minutes with a file set, which solved the handle lock problem - as expected the wall on the "down" side of the detent groove was nearly vertical, a little smoothing off here, and they open with a flick. The bail gets in the way on occasion, as there is no storage lock and it swings freely. The catch in the return spring is almost solvable (90%) by taking a few strokes off of JUST the top of the locating pins. the spring still stacks a smidge near the end, but you don't need to close them that far in use, so you quickly learn to stop before they crunch. I'm surprised how satisfying and smooth they were today, in uses as diverse as shredding my Amazon labels, a bit of junk mail, tie wrap clipping, duct and electrical tape severing, and last, and most notably cutting some 5/16' foam floor matting from Harbor Freight. They did an admirable job at all, and are really nice light utility shears or heavy scissors, however you want to take it. Still NOT a Bonsai cutter, but I'm OK with my purchase since I got to spread my opinion. If you elect to buy, enjoy!
I said I'd be back if I changed my mind, I have. These (once tuned up a bit) grow on you. I've been using them for trimming out lower leaves on soft plants, still need to avoid anything woody, but I find myself reaching for them constantly, and keep them in my pocket while working around the greenhouse. They sneak in places that would be hard to get to with shorter tips. and trim labels, tape and foil great, you really have to avoid the temptation to snip garden ties with them, which they MAY be able to do, but I don't want to chance it. I see the price has come down, these are looking better and better......
