The only downside is a special use I have for it, in that the two "tabs" are shorter than my other strainer's. When I make stock, I straddle the strainer cross a 14" stainless bowl to pre-strain the stock. The tabs on these are too short, so they slip off the edge in this special use case.
As with any mesh strainer like this, if you are straining starchy materials, don't just toss the strainer in the dishwasher, let it sit for a day, and be shocked that the starchy material that has turned into something that could be used as a heat shield on a returning space craft has not washed off. Prerinse any starches off the strainer!
