Ok, they're not black, more like a DEEEEEP eggplant/navy. But this isn't a bad thing, imo it's a much cooler color than a lot of hiking shoes out there.
These shoes are WIDE but don't look clowny. I'm petite, 5' so some wide shoes look silly on me. But because my foot has widened over the years and a lot of shoes rub my pinky toe. I wore these in the house for 3 hours without socks and felt zero discomfort!!
They are very grippy in my kitchen so I'm hoping they are the perfect hiking/day shoe. They also don't feel wobbly which some thick soled shoes can be.
The flex is good, the insole comes out easily which could get annoying if it bunches, but it's also kinda good if you need to dry it out or replace. Overall, I'm super hopeful that these will be exactly what I wanted!
