I have no idea why I did not get one of these when they first came out. This is literally the best invention ever for house cleaning. I love that I can come home to clean carpets anyway I schedule them clean. Goes easily from tile, rugs, carpet and laminate flooring without kidding a step. It has a mapping system that allows it to do the entire house every time. The only drawback to this one is you have to empty the dirt canister and it may not be able to finish large houses without being emptied. If this one ever needs replacement I will definitely invest in the one that empties itself. This vacuum reaches places that a regular vacuum would never get. It also keeps the bottom of your baseboards clean.

Best invention ever!

I absolutely love this vacuum. I have hard wood floors and have to sweep every day so I have been running this every other day and it cleans so well. It is a little loud because of not having any carpet but I just run it when everyone is awake. It is easy to clean. The app was easy to set up. It was even easy to rename the robot vacuum. Since I do not use Alexa I did not try that feature but I know it exists. The only thing I did have to buy separately was the virtual wall barriers because I have a couple of rooms I did not want it to go into that do not have doors.

I love it

I've never had a robot vacuum before and this is a game changer! It is so simple to use as well! I was able to use it straight out of the box even though it recommends charging it more before the first use. It comes with simple instructions to download the irobot app and from there it is a quick as a button to get started once you connect to your wifi. I really like how it maps out your house and explores on its own. The suction was really impressive. I have mostly hardwood floors but it did take a spin on my carpet in my bedroom and you could see the lines from where it was vacuuming back and forth. I was able to run it every day for a week without having to change the dirt tray and even that was easy to pop out and clean and put back to be back in business. I love that you can set up timers for it to run on a schedule. I was worried it wouldn't make it over the hump from my hardwood to my kitchen floors but it had no problem whatsoever. I do pick up my rugs just so it isn't pushing it all over the place but I don't think that is really necessary. I love how advanced technology is and this vacuum can help so much with your day to day cleaning. I felt like the Jetsons living in the future! I definitely recommend this!!

Awesome!

I absolutely adore my new iRobot Roomba i1!!!
This robot vacuum has been a game changer for my busy household of 5! I used to sweep/vacuum my house every 2 days, sometimes every day. With small kids and pets in the house, my floors need attention all the time! My Roomba has saved me so much time and energy! 
Right out of the box, it was easy to set up. 
I figured out where I wanted the Roomba to be based and plugged in the charging base. Then I put the Roomba on the base to charge. While I was waiting for the Roomba to charge, I downloaded the app and named my Roomba. Her name is Ethel :) Boom! Setup complete! 
You can start and run the Roomba without the app, but I wanted the full experience, so I opted for the app. The app is pretty easy to use as well. Once I had my Roomba named and went through some minimal registration information, all I had to do is tap a button and the Roomba will vacuum everywhere it has access to. 
I have run the Roomba several times now, and I am impressed. The first time I ran it, it took over an hour to do my house, but gradually it has gotten more efficient at moving through the house. Now, if the floors aren’t too dirty, it takes less than 45 min. 
The versatility and flexibility are probably my favorite features. It easily goes over my hardwoods, linoleum and even over my rugs! It knows when it’s at a step, and won’t go over the edge, but easily navigated over the threshold that separates my hardwoods from the linoleum in the kitchen. 
I have a toddler at home and often when he naps, I clean. So a few times I have closed his door to keep the Roomba from waking him/vacuuming his room him while he’s sleeping. The roomba still goes into his room the next time I give it access and it cleans it well. 
It recognizes when a floor is more dirty than normal and will go over an area a couple of times to be sure it has gotten the mess. On the app it’s called a ‘dirt event’. My 9 year old has had a few ‘dirt events’ in his room lol! 
I love how well the Roomba reaches under furniture and in corners! 
It’s easy to empty the dust bin. Push a button on the outside ring of the Roomba and it swings open for dumping. No mess. 
The app lets you know how it went when the Roomba gets done with a job. It also lets you know all about any jobs the Roomba runs. You can see how long it ran, if and where any ‘dirt events’ occurred, if the dust bin needs to be emptied, if the Roomba needed to charge in the middle of its job, how much area it covered and you can even see a neat blueprint of the flooring it covered! 
You can also use the app to set up a cleaning schedule! You can set it to run when it’s most convenient for you! 
I love my Roomba so much. I didn’t know what I was missing! I have already been telling all my friends how fantastic it is and will continue to do so!! I will be happily recommending it to everyone I know!

Time saver and very efficient!

I have always loved the Irobot vacuums. I previously had the 675 model and while I loved that version. They have found a way to make the I series much more impressive! My biggest complaint with my old vacuum is that it would go about the room in random directions leaving you to wonder if it really covered all the floor. With the new version it does perfect lines so you can ensure full coverage! It did not come with a Virtual wall as my older version did. 
 The new rollers are an amazing upgrade from the old brush rollers. The brush rollers would fill with hair and the efficiency would be affected by this. The brush had to be cleaned/replaced often. The new rubber rollers so far have not had any issues with this. Just as with the old version it does work with WiFi so you can use it with all of your smart devices Such as but not limited to : Alexa's, Google Home, and Smartphones/tables. You can even set up cleaning schedules for it to run while you are not home!.
 I have noticed that if it detects a larger mess ( like by the dining room table where the kids spilled cereal) it will spend more time in this area making additional laps over the very messy areas . As for pick up power and suction I would say the new version has better cleaning power due this extra care.
 Another great thing about this version is that is is compatible with the cleaning base.( This is sold separately) Together with the WiFi capabilities (asking Alexa to tell Roomba to clean, or starting from your phone) and the cleaning base (Each time it cleans it empties on its own) you will not physically have to do anything to vacuum your home for months. Only clean out the bin every couple of months. In my opinion the bin is a great investment.

Loving the I series, Now does straight lines!

This vacuum has been such a great help in our home! With Kids and Dogs our floors always are needing swept with a push of a button on my phone I can start this vacuum to do the floors, home or away!! I have extra free time now that I'm not spending many times a day doing floors! I use to have to fit in cleaning floors after breakfast on our busy mornings to get out the door, now all I do is start our vacuum and come home to a crumb-free floors and the vacuum returns itself to the charging base! If you are looking for something to take some of your cleaning load off and free you up for other things, you will be just as pleased and satisfied with this purchase as I am! They also have sensors you can buy separately for areas you want avoided, if not it will do all of your floors, even adjusting itself to go over trim. The app on your phone provides all the information about your Robot and also messages they send! Definitely a great purchase to add to any home or business!

A must for every home

I've been obsessed with roombas since my parents got me my first one 11 years ago when I moved into my own apartment with my husband. And I've been so obsessed with it that this is my 3rd one. My first ones battery gave out and I've realized it had a lot to do with the fact that we had 4 cats. So I ended up getting another one that's pet friendly since we are down to 1 cat and a long haired dog and that works wonders. So when I got this one it's perfect so I can use it in the rooms where my dog doesn't go in often. And it works just as good as all of them do. I run it every day and the battery last up to hours sometimes depends if I have it on hardwood or carpet and how much of a mess my kids made at that moment. I also enjoy having the option of having it on wifi. I can stop it or start it when ever I feel like it, as well as set it to a schedule. I usually run it when my little one naps or after the kids go to bed before my husband and I do. It's even battled my German shepherd and the roomba has won, numerous times! It's run over her tail and I'm happy to say it didn't get stuck like my previous roomba would. It does really well vacuuming around toys, but if it's something small like a lego or beads then it sucks it right up.I do go around my house once a week with my regular vacuum because no matter how good the roomba is, it still misses a spot here and there. I will continue on being a fan of roombas for a long time to come! There is nothing like hands free vacuuming.

Love my roomba!

I have a huge 3000sq foot work shop where I make art. It is a constant mess that I’m always trying to keep clean. And such a pain in the rear to clean the floor. I was so excited to get this roomba i1 to get the job done, and it blew my expectations away! I LOVE THIS THING. I no longer have to waste time trying to manually vacuum and sweep up my mess! This little precious thing comes along and does all the dirty work for me. It makes me question what I have been doing with my life entirely! I am free!!!! I love how thorough it is and has literally made my life so much easier. I cannot recommend this enough. The bristles seem to pick up every last grain of sand and dirt, I’m in total awe. I think every person in the world should have one of these so they can get back to living their life! And this is coming from someone who is not a big fan of robots taking over everything… however, I believe it can totally take over my dirty floors! I call her Cinderella, and she gets the job done!

This is AMAZING

If you are looking for a good quiet one, this is the one for you. It doesn't pick up as well as I hoped it would, but it does still get the job done. Between kids and dogs running in and out of the house, this does help keep the floors cleaner than they usually are. The app is easy to download and program. So far. I haven't had any problems at all.

Very quiet

Battery: The battery lift isn't the best. Roomba starts with a full battery and chargers itself 2x each time about 1.5hrs of charging before it continues the job. It normally running for 5hrs totally and that's including the 3hrs of charging. The battery life could be better.

Dirt storage bin: I have it set so that it doesn't Conti until bin is emptied if it gets full. I always empty the bin when it goes back to charge, which is not even halfway full. The first 2 times it cleaned the house, I had to empty bin 2x because it got full. Didn't realize my vacuum was leaving that much behind. 

Cleaning: It does a fantastic job cleaning, I have no complaints on cleaning carpet. I have it set that it only cleans area once. But I've sat and watched it a few times and it tends to go over area all the time more than once even tho the dirt map showed it wasn't excessively dirty there. It does tend to get stuck all the time under edge of couch. There's no way in the app to make it avoid certain areas on map. The app only give me notifications about 20% of the time so I have to constantly check it myself whenever I hear the bot stops

Sound: This is not a quiet device, I literally have to stop my tv because it's almost as loud. I have it set daily after kids are in bed. The motor sound could be better.

Overall: I love using this because it gets the job done and I don't like vacuuming myself daily. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.
