I've used the blender almost daily for 6 months. My last blender was a Cuisinart Smart power 5 speed blender. The Vitamix Vita Prep 3 blows it out of the water. That was a toy compared to the Vitamix. Even hard fibrous pineapple cores end up smoothly blended. This blender is loud, really loud, but as fast as this blends, it's well worth it. 30 seconds of blending produces smoother better results than 4 or 5 minutes with other blenders and the others still don't work as well. This thing is also built like a tank. You get more than what you pay for with this. It's worth every penny.
I’ve owned a vitamix since I got out of college- over 30 years. As a vegetarian I use it at least once a day; often more. When my current very old vitamix needed some parts, I decided to replace it with this commercial pro model now that I have a family. I am absolutely thrilled with it! It has very solid performance. Intuitive controls. Powerful motor has handled everything with aplomb. Container is more heavy duty than regular vitamix. I recommend it without hesitation, especially if you need heavy duty blending needs
I was so excited to get a new commercial Vitamix! I have had it almost three years now and it is terrible. It worked well for about a month or so and then seemed to start slipping. It would not blend thick smoothies (2 cups yogurt, 1 cup frozen blueberries, 2 whey ice cubes, 1 frozen banana) except on high and with the high boost. It would not blend thick slurries either and kept slipping where it would blend then not, but only on high with high boost. I tried to make an emulsion (oil and water) last week and it wouldn't blend much at all until I was on high. I contacted Tech Services after about a year and showed them the video of not blending at 1/2 full slurry on high and they just said you need to keep using the pusher and that this is normal. I had many people using OLD models of this vitamix and they RAVED about it for dry blending, thick slurries, frozen smoothies, so as you can imagine I was super excited to get a brand new one. This was an upgrade from my 3 year old refurbished blendtech. This product is horrible. My now 6 year old refurbished blendtech is still working amazingly (had to replace the container once for burning the seal out blending really really thick slurry of kale leaves and water for too long it really needed more water and blendtech is not designed for dry blending even though it does it really well), but it is still going strong and I find myself choosing the old refurbed blendtech over my 2.5 year old new commercial vitamix. No help from tech services either. this performance is "normal". If you are doing blended soups like squash soup, yup, works great. otherwise, it has been horrible for me and no support from vitamix. Not sure if I got a crappy one or not, but I guess at this point I would steer you to blendtech.
I’m a chef. I’ve tried all kinds of blenders in all different shapes and sizes. Nothing outperforms a Vitamix. Especially not this commercial grade beast. During larger jobs, I could easily overheat my previous vitamixes, but not this guy. The fan is strong and can cool itself down by removing the pitcher and running it at high speed, as per Vitamix instructions - running at higher speeds keeps it cooler than low speeds. Just get it. Trust me, I’m a professional. You won’t regret it.
