I have this beautiful sculpture since 2017 and I love it. The only con is that it has changed the color. It became a little bit darker than other pieces I got many years before at the Met.
Received it well packed within days of ordering. Truly a beauty muse and I absolutely adore her. Can't complain and love what the MET is doing to introduce art to home.
Thalia came to us well protected and boxed. She is beautiful and her face captures the changing light throughout the day. It was a gift for my husband and he’s crazy about it. Truly a lovely addition to our home.
After placing the sculpture on a shelf I stood back and wondered how a second century Roman society that was as cruel and harsh as the historians report could create an object so beautiful. Then I recalled that it's a copy of a third century BCE Greek original.
Arrived within days of ordering - well packed and protected. She's stunning - true to color pictured in online catalogue - and well proportioned for the space she will occupy in our new home.
I bought Thalia about 20 years ago and she still looks great. I highly recommend. I noticed that another reviewer found her statue to be greyish in color and not realistic. Her statue may be newer than mine, but mine looks realistic and not at all grey in color.
Had to return this item for a full refund as it was grey in color and not as pictured. Additionally, the placement of the center of gravity was not precise and so for in order for the sculpture to stand upright, it had to be leaned against the wall. Something obviously not to my liking, considering the cost of this item.
This is so beautiful and striking. I have it in a let display case and it immediately draws the eye. The texture is beautiful and with the light shining directly on top of it there are parts of the sculpture that glow from the inside.
