The bike that started it all

I bought this bike because I wanted something solid and reliable for a decent price. What I go was way more than I could have imagined! I have owned this bike for a year now and have over 3,400 miles on it. From commuting, to workout rides, to doing my first century. If you are looking at getting into single speed/fixed riding or just want a solid set up to get you back and forth, this monster will do it with a smile on its face for a price that fits with ANY BUDGET! I can't say enough about how much I love this thing. You will not be sorry, the only regret you will have is that you didn't buy two. ***I have updated the front fork, wheels, and cranks over the past year, but don't let that be a deterrent. Those upgrades were WANTS, not NEEDS***

This is a great bike.

I probably have low standards. This is the first time I've purchased a new bike that wasn't a Wal-mart or Academy special, and my last bike was a hand-me-down from my brother-in-law who is shorter than me. I had the seat on that thing set as high as it would go and my knees were still half bent at the end of each down stroke. Anyways, I probably have low standards.

When that other bike was stolen off my back porch (no thanks to my dog Sydney, the friendliest guard dog ever), I decided to actually give some thought to the kind of bike I wanted. I didn't want anything too expensive. I didn't want anything too complicated. And I didn't want something I would regret riding to work everyday.

This bike does all of that and more. It's a joy to ride. I feel good riding it, and for someone who hasn't done much riding, that's about the best thing I can ask for.

I guess my main complaint is that because I'm fat, anytime I'm riding against the wind I feel like the world is trying to kill me. But that's not really a complaint about the bike. So there you go.

Good bike odd policies

I like the bike but if I don't pay extra for assembly I don't get a warranty?

Great bike, even greater value. Just needs a few upgrades to be perfect

This bike is a steal for less than 300 bucks. Perfectly capable ride straight out the box for commuters and hobbyists. Pretty much all the core, expensive components punch way above their weight class for what you pay. I just tossed the free plastic pedals aside and threaded on some big aluminum Crank Bros platforms, tossed aside the generic seat for a Brooks Ceribum saddle, trimmed down the bars and bolted up some hub guards, aluminum BMX levers/bar ends/pegs for flatland tricks and light grinds. So I'm still at like $550 for the whole rig and I love it twice as much as my $1000 LeMond setup. The modified Pigeon looks way cooler too if that counts for anything...

Well built & good-looking

Approaching 200 miles on the Pigeon - stoked on everything about it so far!

A Great Commuter

I was looking for a bike to get me to and from work (1.25 miles each way). The Core-Line definitely got me more than I bargained for. A solid bike that is representative of something well above its price point. I am astounded at the deal I got and the performance of this bike. I would definitely recommend the Core-Line to someone looking for a simple, single-speed machine.

The bike came extremely well packaged (ignore the YouTube videos that say otherwise, they are outdated) and mostly assembled. Assembly was complete in about an hour with standard bike tools. Not bad.

So much yes

As someone who always borrowed their older sisters bike, I’ve realized its now time to get my own. This was on my list the second i saw it. The price was spot-on. I kept going back and forth on bikes but after reading all the wonderful reviews and their return policy and color choices, I decided to bite the bullet. I’ve been riding this bike for two days now. This bike was on back-order when I ordered it, but it came a month earlier, yes. I commute to work in the city, so I’m very happy to finally own my own. The bike rides great, installation was easy with my local bike shop. Very happy and excited to start customizing:) The perfect bike for the commuter, fun-rider, city-dweller. 5 stars, easy.

Great bike, everything you’d want from a steel bike

Very impressed with the entire State Bike process. The shipping was much faster than I anticipated, the bike came without a scratch, easy to assemble and the price is on point. I put wider bars on and an 18 tooth on the back, (I live around hills, but want to ride flats too). The general componentry on the bike is awesome, can’t believe I got this for only $299, totally stoked.

Hey I thought y'all did a great job building and designing this bike. I just thought id point out that there is very little incentive to pay for a professional bike build to activate what appears to me to be a relatively limited warranty. All that buys me is a year on components that I would either have to intentionally abuse or have zero mechanic skills to degrade to a requisite point. I know youre covering your butts from amateur builds but for someone in my position who doesnt have a ton of disposible income, and who has been working on bikes for over a decade, I have at least that 100 dollars worth of faith in myself to make your components last safely and effectively through the next 50 weeks. All due respect, ajqh
