First, I want to say this is an excellent defensive weapon. It has a nicely sized 3.75 inch blade with a fine point and a sharp edge. The bi-direction pattern on the handle and jimping on the top and bottom prevent your hand from slipping over the edge and give an excellent grip for a pierce cut. Also, these factors made it an excellence EDC tool for various everday tasks such as opening boxes and mail, food preperation, and even digging out a splinter from a finger.
As far as construction goes, it is built by a company with great quality control. It has 8Cr13MoV steel, similar to the Japanese AUS8 steel and has adequate edge holding and rust resistant properties. It will dull over time but is very easy to sharpen as it is a high value steel and, so far, has been holding up well. It comes with a four position pocket clip which is good for lefties and righties alike. This pocket clip is also positioned so the part that is tough on your pants is not rubbing on textured grip and messing up your clothing; it is positioned on the emblem part of the handle which is smooth. The lockback design is also equal for both sides of handedness. As a lefty, the ambidexterity is very important to me. The pocket clip has a stonwash finish and looks great. I only wish the blade itself had the same finish as opposed to the satin finish. The handles are made of fiberglass reinforced nylon (FRN) and have steel liners on the inside for increased durability and, consequently, weight. the handles can be removed with a torx bit (just like the pocket clip) for an indepth clean if it got wet or got a lot of sand stuck in it. The FRN is plenty strong enough as I have experience with this knife's Spyderco counterpart, the Endura 4 FFG (~$55)This is essentially the same knife with less capable blade steel and a different tear-drop shaped opener, but at less than 2.5 times the price. Also, this knife has Bronze Phosfur bushings in the pivot point of the knife to improve deployment of the blade. I also want to point out the finger choil (or finger groove) at the bottom of the knife where the blade meets the handle. This allows the user to chocke up on the blade for more intricate tasks. There is absolutely no blade play if you tighten the pivot screw to the appropriate level. It locks up very nice and deploys decently at the appropriate tightness.
If you really look closely, you will find minor imperfections but this would be ridiculous to critique because this knife is only about $20! It is not going to be flawless, but for the price, it is flawless. The good thing about this low price is the ability to beat on it and not worry because it is not expensive at all. Benchmades that are $100 are more difficult to use for hard use task for fear of messing it up.
Overall, I highly recommend this knife for anyone looking for a lightweight knife they will forget they are even carrying it until they need it. It disappears in your pocket and performs great. Buy one if you are thinking about it.
Enter the Cara Cara 2. EXTREMELY well-made considering its price tag (almost exactly the same price as a Gerber EVO), hair-shaving sharp right out of the box, just the right size, feels just right in the hand, and it's so thin and light that I honestly forget that I even have it in my pocket sometimes. I've actually found myself having to reach for it to make sure I haven't dropped it or left it at home sometimes. The pocket clip is strong and it's never let the knife slip out of my pocket (you can move it to any one of 4 positions), the scale texture is excellent, the lock very secure without being absurdly strong and tough to unlock (unlike the Cold Steel Tri-Ad locks), the thumb hole is perfectly positioned so that you can either roll open the blade or flick it open. While the hinge isn't quite as smooth as my Endura 4 - there's a bit of grittiness, and when you disengage the lock, the blade doesn't quite go "limp" like it does on the Endura 4 - it's still darn near as effortless as a typical liner lock knife. Overall, this is just the right size and everything for me for EDC, and while I don't usually consider folding knives as lethal-force defensive tools - that's why I have firearms - I have no doubts that the Cara Cara 2 could be effectively employed for such purposes. (I would definitely go with the full-serrated version if you're exclusively looking at this for defensive purposes.)
EXTRA BONUS: Secure one or two zip ties to the top of the thumb hole OR make a cutout with a Dremel, and VOILA! You now have a poor man's Endura 4 Emerson Wave for 1/3 of the price, and with a "wave" design that doesn't make the knife get hung up inside your pocket. (This allows you to "wave" the knife open as you draw it from your pocket.)

I recommend the knife very much, but not for 60 ish bucks. It's more like a 40 ish bucks knife.
Normalerweise gibt es das im 3er Set für 20$. Habe 20€ für das Ding bezahlt. Naja. Als Scherzartikel gut - aber zu klein selbst für den gelegentlichen Einsatz oder als Backup.
First and foremost, I was blown away by the sharpness of the blade. Despite its compact size, this little knife is razor-sharp, effortlessly tackling everyday cutting tasks with precision. Whether it's opening packages or cutting through various materials, the Bug gets the job done with ease. The sharpness is a testament to the quality craftsmanship of Spiderco.
As a final note, this knife impresses on two fronts: its impressive sharpness right out of the box and its unmatched convenience as a keychain accessory.
