I’ve been wearing this model for 30 years. They were recommended by a naturopath as a possible solution to my back problems. I’ve tried several different orthotics before I bought some Burks.

I was in Cannon Beach, OR. I had been walking around; but I was in quite a bit of pain. I noticed a shop advertising Birkenstock shoes. I got a pair of Arizonas. Within an hour…I was almost pain free. Over the years I have tried several of their other models. They used to make a a work boot that I loved back when my job required that I stand all day. They don’t make that model anymore; but I recently bought a different work boot that is very comfortable and great for long walks. I’ve also got a pair of dress shoes that have lasted for 20 years. I only wear them 2 or 3 days a week, and I don’t walk very much in them; but that’s still a remarkable amount of service for the money. My Arizonas usually last a 2 to 3 years. But I pretty much live in them. And yes…I wear socks with them. Let the “fashion police” be $<?€ed. I’m about comfort…not impressing vanity. Enjoy your Birks!

It's my fault. I should have realized the narrow footbed in the title, but for some reason I didn't know there were two types of foot beds before receiving this pair. But my feet are too wide for this size. I was told if I went a size up, so froma 37 to 38, the narrow footbed would be fine.

I wanted to get my hubby something that he could just slip on to walk out of the house, out to the mailbox, etc. He normally wears boots out to his woodshop/office but those are hard to get on and off and if he just wants to walk out there to hang for a little bit, grab a beer, check email (and there’s no safety concern, he’s working, not woodworking) why put on boots? He likes Birkenstocks and these are just perfect. They’ll be great for our vacation next week. He loves them… comfortable, waterproof, and the fit is true to size.

I love these shoes. They are my first Birkenstocks and I definitely will buy more after this experience. I purchased 38 in the copper at first because a lot of reviews say to size down. I’m an 8.5 and they were too small. I reordered 39 and they were perfect. I also tried the water friendly Gizah and found the same thing. They fit in my normal 8.5 or 39 size. I have very skinny feet too but they stay on fine. They are so comfortable. I wear flip flops all summer normally, nothing else. Well, since I bought these a flip flop has not touched my foot. I never thought I’d say that! I love them and prefer them over flip flops. I also prefer the Arizona style over the Gizah. Mainly because I wanted a real slip on and I have bunions which makes the Gizah not look so hot on. I would definitely buy another color in these water friendly’s but first I want regular Birkenstock’s. My feet are happy, stylish and supported. I have had no cracking at the toe crease on footbed but I’ve only had the a couple weeks. They don’t appear to be stressed there but I would just contact Birkenstock if that happen I’d be shocked if they wouldn’t replace them.

Really disappointing. After only one wear (sitting in meetings- not running around or doing anything that would warrant scratches) the copper straps were scratched up. I would expect this from $40 shoes- not shoes I’ve spent $135 on. The material of the straps in cheap and not worth it. I love the originals, but i would never purchase any style than that ever again. You have been warned!

The most ergonomically and orthotically designed sandal on the market, at almost half of the cost at any retail outlet, what's not to love? Having multiple hardware in my right foot, from a mountaineering/climbing accident 15 years ago, my feet can only tolerate the most comfortable fitting and wearing shoes. These Birks, fit perfectly to my foot, feel like you are wearing almost nothing, and cushion my heels, so that I'm able to wear these all day, without my feet getting sore. This is the first time I've ever purchased them online. I used to go to a Birkenstock store almost an hour away from here - (Joshua Tree - yes right near the national park) and would have to shell out $130 plus tax. These cost almost half from Amazon, and shipped in a few days. If you're outdoors alot, active person, these are the best, most comfortable, longest lasting sandals on the market. Incredibly well designed, they are extremely durable and can be repaired/resoled several times before having to be tossed. This purchase was my 2nd pair, after my 1st pair lasted 9 years! Still have the first, but their now my backup pair for when feet are dirtier, working outside etc. I would highly recommend these to everyone, young & old, male female.
