I'm a Windows and Android based user so this is the perspective I'm coming from. I can't comment on other OS experiences, but for me my overall experience has been a good one.
I use these all day long and have for the last month. Fit wise I like that they have slightly larger ear cups than several other similarly purposed headsets I own. They feel a little warmer more quickly on my ears than others, but not by much. And really after having these or any headset on my head for 6-8 hours straight it doesn't really matter at that point. My ears are going to be warm regardless. I also like that these are super lightweight and fold up relatively small. I see myself using these as my traveling go-to headset once I'm traveling again. (boo covid)
The ANC works great and in most situations I have it turned to the adaptive setting, which can be adjusted via phone app. The mic monitoring or "side tone" is OK. I wish it could be turned up higher, but this is a minor gripe. For example the Plantronics Voyager 8200UC's mic monitoring is louder and more pronounced. It is still definitely loud enough to hear yourself and not have to pull the one ear on and one ear off routine. My personal preference would be to make the max mic monitoring volume maybe top out at ~1.5x what it is now so the user can adjust it down as needed. Who knows maybe that will be done via a future firmware update?
Microsoft Team's works great with these. The call quality is good, but becomes game changing-ly good after enabling the "Call Enhancement" feature. I can't stress that enough. Turn that feature on now! If you close your eyes while on a call, hopefully not when you are video conferencing, it does sound like you are talking to someone in the same room and is exceptionally clear. Speaking of call quality nobody has had any issues hearing me. For a boom-less design these do really well. I tested out the mic's noise cancelling ability via various background noises. Even with a fan blowing directly into my face I can still be understood albeit more "grainy" sounding as the fan's noise is being removed and my voice left in. Pretty cool stuff. If you have a loud keyboard... well... it does what it can, but no boom-less design will be able to completely kill mx blue switches... let's just be honest. It does do an OK job, but keyboard clicks will be picked up if you are rolling with some loud switches.
Using the USB dongle to a laptop and a phone via Bluetooth gives a good experience once paired, but I do have two gripes:
Number one is the pairing process. If you plug in the dongle first BEFORE pairing to your phone be prepared to be frustrated. My experience is it simply would not allow me to pair to my phone with the dongle active. It would go into pairing mode and my phone would see the device, but it would just give an generic unable to pair message. As soon as the dongle is unplugged I could pair with no problems and plugging the dongle back in worked as expected. Maybe this will get fixed via a future firmware update, but it was frustrating to hit this. So just be aware of this and the simple solution of unplugging the dongle when attempting to pair to a phone.
Number two is the Windows/PC audio interrupt. By this I mean when a sound is played on the PC it interrupts the phone Bluetooth audio. For example a Teams meeting starts on the PC. The PC should take priority over the Bluetooth audio in this situation. This works and if I'm playing music on my phone it is paused and the meeting audio takes over. An example problem sound could be with an email arrival notification that is played on the PC. It also interrupts the Bluetooth audio. So it totally makes sense that this should interrupt and it should be played, but this should ONLY happen when the PC volume is NOT muted. Even with the PC volume muted it STILL interrupts the Bluetooth audio. This is one super annoying thing that should not work this way and I'm hoping this will be addressed in the future. With the Plantronics Voyager 8200UC if I muted the PC audio it did not interrupt the phone Bluetooth audio when emails arrived and a sound was played.
Overall though I really like these. For business use they are great and would highly recommend them for someone who is in and out of Microsoft Teams meetings all day. For background music or streaming while working these are also great. Also no complaints on the battery life or the wireless range.
1) Mic quality and noise isolation so others can hear me well
2) Bluetooth dongle for a better connection with the PC
3) Connect to more than one device via Bluetooth at a time
4) Comfort for wearing it 5 to 8 hours at a time. I already know that only over-the-ear or on-the-ear headphones would work for me for prolong usage
5) Less critical but would like a unit that I may use for work, as well as occasional outdoor usage or travel
I have been using EPOS Adapt 660 for about a month and I like it. a few pros and cons:
Pros:
- Comfortable for hours at a time. Ears do not feel hot. Then again, I am mostly indoors and it is not summertime yet. Since I have a bigger head, while it is still comfortable enough, I would prefer that the headband may extend slightly more if possible. Not a bit deal.
- I do not need noise cancellation typically as I am usually indoors and the over-the-ear design already sufficient in muffling the external noises for me. I did try it with the vacuum cleaner running close by, and the ANC function works well in that case.
- Mic quality is good. Once in a while, I need to adjust the position of the headphone on my head to get a clearer mic reception (according to people on the other end of the calls). That's just the way I position the headphone, hence directional mic, so I cannot blame the product
- Sound quality is good for me. Better than my old Plantronics Voyager UC. But I am not an audiophile
- Construction is pretty solid. The connection between the over-the-ear pieces and the headband is metal and sturdy.
- The headphone is relatively lightweight. The Over-the-ear pieces are not too big, unlike some other models.
Cons:
- The Team button does not work for me. I configured it with the PC software and the button still does nothing. Tried to change it between Skype and Team but still nothing. I would like to get this functioning but it is not that critical to me though. I am used to Voyager UC Focus which does not have such a button to begin with.
- After ~8 hours of calls and music, the battery says more than 40% left. Sufficient for me but seems less than advertised. But I have not tried to run the battery to empty to confirm.
- The remaining-battery level reporting from the headphone vs the mobile app is different. I am not certain which one to believe. For example, at this very moment, my 660 is reporting “more than 60% available”, when the iOS app is reporting “100%” battery available. Also, the 660 reports “more than 80% available” even after I charged the 660 overnight. I have not been able to get the 660 to report “100%”. I suppose technically 100% is “more than 80%”
- I would like to have more options to change the treble, bass, mid-range, etc instead of only the presets of "Theater", "voice", etc. The Custom option is not sufficient. Generally, I like higher treble and keep the rest regular. I don't have that option here. Not a show stopper.
- Perhaps I am old school, but I would prefer a physical on/off button instead of turning the earpiece 90 degrees. When I put the headphone around my neck temporarily I need to flatten them to fit well -- that turns off the headphone. When I put it back on I need to wait a sec for the reconnections.
- Would be nice to have USB-C for charging instead
Here is a bit of info on my selection journey before settling on the EPOS Adapt 660. I was using Platrornic Voyager UC Focus before but it was getting old and started having some Mic issues after two years. I looked into Bose 700, Bose QC35 II, Jabra Evolve2 85, Jabra Evolve2 65, and a few others before settling.
I would like to have a boom mic as it typically allows the other end to hear me better. Prefer a retractable one. But the mic test videos from various reviews convinced me that Bose 700, and EPOS 660, and Evolve2 85 have enough directional Mics that they may work well enough.
Evolve2 85 looks promising and the sound test seems good especially with the boom mic extended. However, I have a concern that the boom mic looks a bit flimsy. It may break easier. Also, the earpiece seems quite big on my relatively bigger head. Not to mention the price tag.
I have a similar concern for the boom mic for Evolve2 65. Also if I were to consider Evolve2 65, I would probably get the Voyager UC Focus again instead as that is sturdy and both are on-the-ear design.
QC35II is an older model but got a lot of good reviews. However, Mic seems to be lacking, and also a lot of complaints about overheating. Most importantly, Bose does not have the USB dongle (well, at least does not come with it and costs a lot to buy separately).
So I narrowed it down to the 660, Bose 700 w/ extra USB dongle, Evolve2 85, or Platonic Voyager UC Focus (again). I went with EPOS Adapt 660 mainly for the balance of features and price.
Hope this helps.

Feedback on music listening while on train:
- the sound from speakers is energizing, can feel the 'boom' gust of air for loud sounds. It is entertaining, and is an upgrade compared to my AirPods Pro as a music listening tool.
- however the ANC setting is strange compared to my Jabra Evolve 75. Sudden loud sounds are not silenced, but is muted down. So my music is not pure when there are noises, like when the train is travelling inside tunnel the screeching sounds come out strong, and it is not so pleasant compared to Jabra Evolve75 or Airpods pro.
Feedback on voice calls at home using MS-Teams or Zoom:
- My home regularly has F-15 fighter jets patrolling in the sky. The microphone does detact the jet engine sounds and mute it, but in the process also distort my voice and I get complaints from my listeners that i am speaking as if there is much static noise and is fading in and out.
- Second, my home working area has a running fountain situated outside my open window. When i used Airpods Pro mic, the fountain sounds get picked up and my listeners can hear them when we are conversing. EPOS 660 does a great job of eliminating this when I'm speaking and my callers now can't hear these sounds.
