Shark IQ with Self Empty Vacuum Canister
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an easy to program model, very mush like the Roomba we had in the past but much more high tech than the older models were. We live that we can program it to vacuum at a set time each day. A pitfall is that we sometimes forget to close a door to a room that has some cords on the floor and scatter rugs and the machine has gotten stuck several times. We haven’t tried the strip that came with it that tells it not to enter. Overall, we really love the convenience of this machine with 2 cats and a dog to pick up after. Our home has laminate flooring throughout. It does a great job at picking up, emptying as many times as needed and recharging. We haven’t needed to empty the big tank that everything gets sucked into yet.

Great purchase
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great product! Everything gets caught in it though, I have to be meticulous about picking everything up before running it and it gets stuck on certain bath mats

Terrific! It really works, as advertised.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Finally, a vacuum cleaner that works as advertised. I have a large dog that sheds enough to stuff a mattress each day. I own several vacuum cleaners, the best I could find advertised. All of them were rated for animal hair but none of them actually lived up to their advertising. My house needs vacuuming every day to keep up with her hair. I have all tile and hardwood floors which makes the job much easier but all of the other vacuums got the dog hair tangled around the roller, clogged up the internals, and were very difficult and time consuming to clean out. Some of them required complete disassembly with a screwdriver. I bought the shark robot out of desperation. I set it up and started running it. The first day It filled up with dog hair but didn’t clog the roller and emptied itself, just like it is supposed to. I get up every morning now to a clean house and I’m not mad at my dog anymore. Thank you Shark!

My Third Shark Robo Vac
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My 3rd Shark Robot A few years ago I bought a Shark ION RV750 robovac on eBay and was blown away by what a good job it did, so I purchased a Shark R85 on the next Prime Day, but was disappointed as it seemed it wasn't an upgrade, if anything it performed a little worse (it was slightly taller so it didn't fit under as many items of furniture), but it still did an excellent job. So moving into a tri-level home, I knew I wanted to get one more, but was torn between getting another 750 (which I knew worked well - and it's still going strong to this day!) or if I wanted to splurge and get the IQ Self-Empty. The appeal of being able to map and then determine which rooms were to be vacuumed was a big appeal as I've got two teens and their rooms aren't always robovac friendly. I also really liked the idea of not having another robovac to empty daily. We have 3 cats and a dog - along with allergies, so daily vacuuming is a must - and it's always a full bin. I considered the Roomba i7+ and i9+, but figured that I'd already had such a good experience with Shark that I'd stick with what I know works, and works well. So I decided to give the IQ a try. I'm already blown away! It's exceeded my expectations and it hasn't even completed the mapping process yet. As always, set up was a breeze. It's only ran a few times, but I can already tell a difference between it and the 750 that was previously on the top floor. I have a Shark Apex vacuum and the carpets are closer to that level of clean than the ION 750 which is astounding. Unlike my other two robovacs, it sets out and vacuums row by row with an impressive amount of precision. It does, as expected, fail to get debris in compact corners (for example the 4 inches of wall between the dresser and the doorway). It's ability to navigate around items, but then remember exactly where it left off once it has gone around, cleaned and returns to that spot, is equally impressive. The precision in which it finds the dock and loads in unlike the other two robovacs, albeit, I don't give it the suggested space around the dock (all three versions do just fine docking even with minimal surrounding open space). When it self-empties, it is loud, but not any more so than how a normal household vacuum sounded about 20 years ago, and it only lasts for about a minute, if that. I love this little robovac so much that I could see myself replacing the other two older ones with this model in the next year or so. Let me be clear, emptying the bins daily isn't bad at all. It's that the only trash wide enough to easily ensure none of the dust or debris go into the air or on the surrounding ground is the kitchen trash - and that's assuming no one's loaded up the trash to almost being full, and while most of the time, I'll go dump the bins in large trash, if I'm running out the door or in the middle of something else, I do tend to just go to the nearest trash can - which makes a small mess (although much less messy than not having the floors clean at all!).

Beware of revision change but same SKU!!!!!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like the reviewer Lynda stated, beware of the same SKU and model number!!! I bought this and returned it because it had the older revision of the self emptying part which doesn’t release from the top, but releases from a side messy cup! Be sure you get the revised one which releases from top! Same SKU and part number though so check the pics on box carefully! Otherwise I love the shark iq robot and found the “correctly revised” model in my local Bed Bath Beyond

A Baby Shark You'll Love to Hear
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.---SETUP--- The setup of the Shark IQ Robot vacuum was simple. You just plug the base making sure that it is against a wall and that on the left and right it has 3 feet of clearance and 5 feet in front of it. If you are installing it on a carpet, it comes with a plastic base extension. I installed it on hardwood floor, so I didn’t use the extension. The robot itself is ready to go except for installing 2 bristles by snapping them. Additionally, if there is a place you don’t want your robot to travel to, you can install a special tape that prevents the robot from going into a room or a section of a room, like under a couch or to a place that may be riddled with cables. ---FEATURES--- The key feature of this vacuum unit is that upon docking itself, the dock will suck up whatever the robot vacuumed. This is a neat feature because you don’t have to constantly empty the robot vacuum. It’s meant to store 30 days of dirt, but based on how much there is in your home, that may vary. For people with big houses, theres a feature that allows the robot vacuum to clean until close to battery drain, return to base to recharge for 4 hours, then resume cleaning where it last stopped. ---PERFORMANCE--- The performance of the vacuum was excellent. If you watch it for the duration of the time, which you probably will because it’s entertaining, you will be amazed at how carefully it rounds corners to make sure it gets everything. Two bristles will circle debri towards the center so that it can really get things in corners. The one thing I wasn’t able to do was to connect it to Alexa. I used the Alexa app and added the Shark Skill as explained in the Shark IQ app, but it would refuse to recognize the vacuum. Regardless, the Shark IQ app itself is easy to understand and use, so I don’t mind using the app to start and stop it if necessary. That being said, it is a touted feature and it a bit unfortunate that it didn’t work. It is supposed to work with Google Home as well, but I didn’t try it with that device. ---EXPECTATIONS--- The product exceeds my expectations. Using the Shark IQ app, the robot will begin to map your house. It may take several days of mapping the house. For me, it has done 32% in 5 days and it seems to have been stuck there for a while now. However, it still cleans my entire home, and its easy to tell because the base has a visible level of collected dust, debris, and cat hair. It does a wonderful job collecting cat hair that I couldn’t even see was on the floor as well as daily cleaning the litter that the cats kick out of the litter box. That is heaven for me because when I get home from work, I can be barefoot and not step on the litter. I schedule cleaning to happen an hour before I arrive home during the weekdays and Saturday and Sunday an hour before I wake up. The daily vacuuming is noticeable and very enjoyable. ---VALUE--- The price for the Shark Vacuum in terms of value may sound steep, but if you do the math, it’s like paying someone 1.23 cents daily to clean your entire home! That’s worth the investment. ---APPROVAL--- I highly recommend this product for people who may want extra time to do things they enjoy instead of vacuuming their home. I also recommend this product for people who own pets that shed and want to deal less with the fur on the floor.

Good with multiple dogs, mapping feature tip.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have a mid sized home with 3 dogs (husky, lab, and pit) we have carpet and hard surface floors. This operates exactly how you’d want it to- but does require some effort on your half (to be expected). During set up I ran the vacuum twice daily (emptying dust cup and robot dust cup after each use) and this has kept up with our household needs. With the mapping feature- I would recommend you don’t look at your map until the robot has made it into each room of your home twice- or they won’t show up on the map- and you’ll have to redo it. You’ve got to make sure you pick up the floors, or the boy will get stuck- but this has saved me loads of time. I was worried with all of the dogs, And if it could keep up with the hair. but if you take care of The robot, it’s a life saver! No more hair bunnies!

Q: QuestionHow does it do with cat and dog hair?
Asked by Alicia.
- A:Answer Amazing! I have a long haired Shepherd and a Samsung that had to be taken apart daily to cut the hair out of the brush. Maddening,. This one has no issues with the hair at all.
Answered by Jodi
Q: QuestionWhat accessories are needed? Is WiFi necessary? Trish
Asked by Trish.
- A:Answer You must have wifi coverage in your home. You must also have smartphone (either Android based or Apple iPhone) and download and install the Shark app. The Shark IQ vac has no dedicated remote and requires the smartphone with Shark app to control the vac.

Q: QuestionCan I pickup the robot and take it to another level in the house? Will doing so mess up my current map? Would the base station have to go with to the next level?
Asked by Jake.
- A:Answer I move mine, but it can't get back to base, I just have to move it back closer to base when done.

Q: QuestionI am comparing the IRobot Roomba I7 plus and I want to know if this vacuum is loud.
Asked by DanB.
- A:Answer It can be - adjustable, but I would say it is as comparable to Roomba in sound - though with that said this is a much better bot vacuum than the I7. Only the S9 was better
Answered by Dataguy
Q: QuestionIs this the new model 2019 s
Asked by Curious.
- A:Answer This is a shark robot vacuum. “S” is one of the Roomba robot vacs. This is a R1000AE, AE is important because the letters AE tell you the vacuum comes with the tower. The shark version is much cheaper but in my opinion just as good at 1/3 the cost. I already bought a second one of these shark vacs after being so impressed with our first one even on carpet.
