Works as expected!
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this machine 10 months ago. It was easy to setup and use and the coffee comes out great. You will have to play around with it and adjust to your taste. I was using a chemex, but the coffee gets cold really fast, the filter is key. I use the Chemex filters but you have to cut them to fit for a better cup of Joe. All in all I am pleased with my purchase and would recommend.

So far so good.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beautiful machine that simulates pour overs well. Produces the smoothest, best tasting coffee I have ever had outside of a cafe, and it’s gotten me into drinking my coffee black. The finish on the machine is a nice satin silver and the entire machine looks beautiful on display. The only con is all the reports of the carafe breaking and the company being unwilling to replace while also not selling a replacement. I knew this going into the purchase and because of that I am super super careful with the carafe. It’s glass people, be smart. In the event it breaks, I’ll just have to replace with the six cup carafe they sell as a pour over kit which is plenty for me. I didn’t want this machine for capacity, I wanted it for the convenience of an automatic machine and the taste of a pour over. I’m absolutely obsessed.

Good Coffee Maker
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Brim coffee maker is a good product, easy to use. You can make from one to eight cups. As a caution, the carafe will get very hot and it is necessary to hold it by the rubber sleeve. There is the option to use paper filters or to avoid paper by using the steel mesh filter.

All the benefits of pour over without the hassle
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Huge difference from my small drip coffee pot to this one, the flavor is so much smoother, plus it's an attractive coffee pot to have sitting out all the time. My only complaint is that the heating pad only stays on for 30 minutes after brewing, so if you're a slow drinker like myself, you'll have to make a couple smaller batches instead of one large one otherwise it'll get cold, but it's not too bad since the idea is to be drinking fresh coffee anyways. Noticed that with finely ground coffee the mesh filter doesn't seem to catch everything, so we use the disposable filter also, again, not a bad thing, just something I thought was worth noting. Overall it definitely converted us to pour over, minus all the hassle!

Makes a great put over.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After reading reviews was not sure but so glad we tried. Great cup of coffee. There was a funny smell but found out it’s not in the coffee or machine but the rubber sleeve holding the carafe. No big deal. Great quality.

Great coffee
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love this coffee maker. Though, I know if the glass breaks they’re not easily replaceable so be careful. This happened to my friend and they contacted the manufacturer to no avail.

Simple to use and makes a great cup of coffee.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This pour- over model brews a great cup or pot of coffee in a few short minutes. I couldn't be happier with it. It is simple to operate. Grind my favorite blend, fill water reservoir and push start. Grounds have a nice bloom and coffee tastes great. The price may be a little high but the product functions well. It may have less pieces to break and be unhappy with.

Q: QuestionIf you brew 1-2 cups, does the coffee taste as good?
Asked by Marilyn.
- A:Answer The machine starts at 4 cups which is 20oz. When I brew this amount the resulting brew is a little under extracted due to brew time being shorter. In these cases, I will make the grind finer to extract a little more. You will have to play with your grind for your own tastes. Per manufacturer, “optimal” settings on the machine is 7 cups(35oz) with a medium grind.

Q: QuestionCan I use a paper filter with it? Which size?

Q: QuestionIs the water measured and timed like it would be for a handmade pourover? For instance, does it do a 45s bloom?
Asked by JW89.
- A:Answer The water is measured but I wouldn't say it's timed. It basically boils whatever amount of water you put in it, and drips the water out over the coffee like a very slow pour over. It's only an on/off function so all control is with the amount of water and coffee you use. But it's lovely to watch the water bubble up and the drip shower, and it makes a great cup or 8 of coffee.

Q: QuestionI have always loved my brim coffee pot. So disappointing now that it makes terrible smelling coffee. I have done the vinegar cleaning and it still smells terrible. I made a single cup of pour over coffee, no bad smell. Bad plastic??

Q: QuestionI do not have a grinder. When ordering coffee, would I choose manual drip or auto drip? I am guessing auto drip is for the other style coffee makers, and this is more of a manual drip model since it simulates the pour over method.
Asked by Robin.
- A:Answer Hello, thanks for reaching out. It is auto drip. Have a nice day. The BRIM Team.

Q: QuestionWhen its powered on and you unplug it, will the machine be on when you plug it back in, or would you have to push the power button again to turn on? I want to use a smart plug, that's why.
Asked by King.
- A:Answer You would have to power back on.
