These shoes seem great at first but time has shown that they are very poorly made, especially considering this price. My favorite boot is Edelman's Petty, so I was excited to try these flats. The leather on these is so soft, they are comfortable right out of the box, they don't rub on your heels, bunions, etc., and the ballet style is cute and classic. Now on to the bad: I live in downtown DC and I walk everywhere and I was hoping that this shoe would become my go-to flat, since my previous favorite, the Cole Haan Air Bacaras, have been discontinued. But sadly, my search continues. My biggest issue is that every aspect of this shoe is incredibly flimsy. This shoe is comfortable because it is exactly as supportive and durable as those old Isotoner ballet-style slippers that everyone's mom used to have (i.e., the shoe has zero support and structure). Putting in a Dr. Scholl's heel cup has helped, but they are still just so thin and floppy and not durable. The sole is so thin that I feel like I'm walking barefoot on the city streets. I used to pay more than these shoes for the Cole Haans and those flats lasted me at least a solid year of walking many miles (at least 1 mile per day). I've been wearing these Edelman's for about a month now and they are almost completely worn out. The leather is so thin that one scrape on the sidewalk on the toe of the shoe has left a huge mark and the toe feels like it will have a full-fledged hole in it soon. The interior sole lining starts rolling and bunching after only a few wears, and every time I take the shoe off I need to unstick it and place it back into the shoe. Simply put, these should be marketed as a slipper and not a shoe. Additionally, some ballet flats are styled in such a way that, in a pinch, you can wear them around the office and be acceptable. The flimsy nature of these shoes means that these are not those flats. If you are seeking a very casual shoe for mostly light, indoor wear and you don't need any support or cushioning, this shoe might be okay. But if you do any amount of longer day-to-day walking, I wouldn't recommend these unless you're okay with paying this much for a shoe that won't last more than a few weeks. For reference, I am a true size 10.5, with wider feet near my toes, and I bought these in the black leather.

You know someone loves a shoe when they buy a second pair of them...and I just ordered my second pair. I got a pair this spring, just before I had some minor foot surgery. It turned out to be one of two pairs of shoes I could wear without pain because it doesn't have any pressure points. I literally wore these for 3 weeks straight. I love this shoe because I can wear it with jeans or skirts and it's easy to wear on a plane. They pack great! One of its best features is that the insole is sewn in such a way that it doesn't come up when your foot gets hot (Disney). The only time I haven't been completely happy with them is when I did 3 hours of walking on cobblestone streets in Germany, because the sole wasn't thick enough for that. But I've logged hundreds of hours on pavement in these and never had a problem. Love these shoes!

I'm disappointed with this shoe. I really loved wearing it at first (very comfortable and very cute), but after just 2 weeks of wearing it, the insole literally fell out and clumps up every time I walk. I cannot even wear these anymore. Not sure if this a malfunction of the shoe, but disappointed with the quality after just 2 weeks of wear.

Oh how I love these flats! I am a 8.5/9 so I ordered the 9 to be safe and I'm glad I did. They don't have a ton of padding on the bottoms but there oh so comfortable-no tension on the heels or on my ugly bunions which might I add these shoes cover up nicely. I just wish now I could find them in more colors with the snake finish.

When I opened the box, it smelled like pleather (the same way a Payless Shoe Store smells). For the price, you'd think these would be high quality leather uppers at least, but when I checked the item description, it only says "available in a variety of uppers," and does not specify which colors, if any, come in leather. The inside label of the shoe said "leather uppers," but really, these have a synthetic look and feel and do not feel like they'd give or stretch at all -- at least in black. Finally, these run small and very narrow. I'm usually 8.5 and have a very narrow heel, so despite the other reviewers who were also 8.5 but found that a 9 fit them in this shoe, I was worried that if I ordered a 9, the heel would not be snug enough and ordered an 8.5. Well, the 8.5 crunches my toes from the tip and the sides, but the heel is just the right snugness. I'm having a dilemma now as to whether to try a 9 in a different color, but worry that in 9, the heel would not be snug enough to avoid flip-flopping. Oh well, such are the risks of ordering shoes online.
