Pair of French Art Deco/Modernist Chrome & Copper Table Lamps with Glass Shades

About the Item

Rare pair of cylindrical design table lamps with glass shades by P. Gilles. These stylish Art Deco table lamps are built up on geometrical bases with four copper feet. The chromed base comes with small mirror panels on all sides and rising from these bases are cylindrical colums of copper and chromed copper. The cherry on the pie of these beautifully patinated table lamps are the glass shades which are marked 'Gilles' (Paul Gilles). These pure Art Deco table lamps will look marvelous on your nightstands or sidetable, looking beautiful both with the light turned on and off. Apart from some age fading of the patination, this truly marvelous pair is in good condition and you could hardly wish for a more stylish pair. If you already have a place in mind for them then this rare pair could be flying your way soon. They will be rewired for safe and immediate usage in the USA as well and when purchased by an American client, we will even attach American power plugs so that they can be used and enjoyed upon arrival. Mind you, our fair price for this pair even includes perfect packing and also worldwide delivery from our store to your door in just 4 days. Maximum height x width x depth: 13.75 x 4.5 x 4 inches. • French Art Deco Opalescent Glass Table or Desk Lamp with Stylish Bison Sculpture
    By Edmond Etling
    Located in Lisse, NL
Rare and stylish bison sculpture lampby EDMOND ETLING. This beautiful and truly artistic Art Deco table lamp comes with the signature "Etling France" and model number. Edmond Laurent Etling (23 June 1878 – around 1940) was a French art dealer, gallery owner, designer and a manufacturer of high-quality decorative objects made of bronze, ceramics and art glass in the Art Deco style. His company La Societe Anonyme Edmond Etling, founded in Paris in 1909, manufactured decorative objects and commissioned sculptors and artists, including Georges Béal, Demétre Chiparus, Claire Colinet, Armand Godard, Geneviève Granger, Marcel Guillard, Maurice Guiraud-Rivière, Géza Hiecz, Fanny Rozet, and Lucille Sévin. Other artists that worked with Etling for casting their statuettes included Aurore Onu, Marcel Bouraine, Pierre Le Faguays, Raymonde Guerbe and André Vincent Becquerel. Etling is known for light blue opalescent objects such as plates and bowls, which were also produced in gray and frosted glass. Most items bore the cast signature "Etling France" followed by a model number related to the Choisy-le-Roi catalogue. In 1910, Etling was awarded the diplome d'honneur at Brussels International (1910). In 1923, he was awarded the Grand Prix in Paris. In 1940, Etling closed his shop due to World War II. Because Etling was of Jewish descent, he was sent to a Nazi concentration camp, where he died. This early 1900s, sculptural table lamp clearly has many typical bison features making it easy to tell from further away as well. The overal design and opalescent colors of this bison on a hand carved wooden base makes this work of lighting art an absolute joy to own and look at. And with the light switched on, this art glass table lamp creates a warm light that makes every room an even greater pleasure to be in. This is the ideal light for a (private) library or for a desk, but this bison sculpture beauty also makes a great gift. This work of art table lamp is rewired to the highest standard for safe and immediate usage the world over and when purchased by an American client we will also attach an American power plug so it can be used and enjoyed upon arrival. Mind you, our price for this rare light includes perfect packing (in a custom made and strengthened box) and also worldwide shipping from our store to your door in just 4 to 6 days. Maximum height x width x depth including wooden base: 7.7 x 9 x 4.8 inches. Height x width x depth of the glass bison...
