Quality Control is Lacking
First off, I love Havaianas flip flops, but they have definitely changed over the years. Quality control is seriously lacking. The sizing is not accurate and the straps are too long and sloppy. (They never used to be like this.) This causes your foot/toes to jut out over the edge of the footbed. I have thin feet but have never had a problem with the size of the straps on old pairs of Havianas. The size 5-6 I purchased is actually one size smaller, so if you purchase these, size up from your normal size. I exchanged these for a size 7-8 and they match the size of my old size 5-6 Havaianas slim.When I say quality control is lacking, I had similar problems with two other pairs I purchased through Nordstrom. I bought a size 5-6 and had to return them for the same problems mentioned above. When I received the replacement pairs, the sizing was correct and the straps were less sloppy. The other thing I have noticed between pairs is the Nordstrom pairs have a more cushy footbed, the Amazon pair is denser but not as thick.I am including a photo to compare the size differences between different purchases to illustrate the inaccurate sizing.The photo I'm including shows the differences between flips flops. In August, I purchased two pairs of Havaianas from Nordstrom. When they arrived, they too were too small for the size indicated and also had sloppy straps that were il-fitting. I returned those and the exchanged pairs were the correct length for size 5-6 and the straps were better fitting. I'm comparing the Nordstrom purchase (accurate sizing) with the Amazon purchase (inaccurate sizing) as well as an old pair of non-slim Havaianas in a size 7-8 to show the difference between lengths (size 5-6 and size 7-8).
