The compact design is perfect for tight spaces or under low ceilings, so you can make the most of your available space.

The hard-wearing solid pine has natural variations in grain, color and texture, giving every piece a unique look.

If you oil, wax, lacquer or stain the untreated solid wood surface it will be more durable and easy to care for.

There’s plenty of space under the bed for storage boxes - perfect for storing extra duvets and pillows.

You can easily vacuum under the bed frame to keep the space clean and dust-free.

Don’t BotherStuartCenter beam snapped, don’t bother buying this. 1
If you have 8 arms and 12 brains then buy itTatianaThis bed was so hard to put together with just 4 arms and 2 brains. We lost brain cells putting it together. The instructions were vague and nothing was labeled. Eventually we started making our own holes and just having to do stuff because nothing lined up and we were absolutely frustrated. If you are able to just create your own holes and use your imagination, it will work in the end. But 0/10 for assembly.2
We bought it and paintedRahizanelWe bought it and painted it black. Honestly we haven't even put it together yet. But I can't wait to do so and redecorate my daughters room5
peice of garbageLilithThe bed is very difficult to assemble. The instructions are very unhelpful. The screws given were not the correct size which made them useless. There is no way to secure the slats. The finished product is unusable, I doubt it would support my weight. This is my first and last time purchasing from Ikea. I am very disappointed.1

Needed a drill to put together!SharonI was told that all the tools I would need was included! But I needed to hire a handyman with a drill because the L wrench was not good enough!3
Looks good, but assembly was difficultTiffanyThis looks nice, but I'm also afraid to move around on this thing too much. I don't know of it will hold up. Some of the pieces don't align properly and a few of the screws/dowels don't fit??? I guess you get what you paid for. 3
Squeaky after a whileNicholasI gave this bed a glowing 5-star review a while back, and I do still like it - however, after maybe 2 years of use, it creaks and groans with every bigger movement. I guess it's to be expected at this price point, and I loved it for 2 years - but I just wish Ikea made a frame as simple, minimal, and elegant as this with better materials / construction. I'd gladly pay much more for that.3
Love this bedSarahI bought this for my granddaughter when she comes to stay with us. She loves it!5
1.5yrs later: simple, beautiful, sturdy, well pricedNicholasThere are a lot of more expensive bedframes out there, but...why? I wanted something simple and at a reasonable price. Check and check. I think i got this on sale which helped. Still doesn't creak, and shows no signs of age. Helps my bed seem like it's not taking up so much space in my room, and still fits underbed bins (though I had to buy shorter ones!). Could easily be stained, if you're into that, but I like the light natural tone. Would've been nice if it came with furniture-moving feet to screw into the bottom of the legs, but eh. Also I did not find it hard to assemble at all, just needed space and patience.5
love itDeisya bit hard to assemble but i honestly like it.. got used to how short it is. a pretty sturdy bed frame if you ask me.5
Work great & affordableTrangI live at an apartment on 3rd floor so would want a cheap bed frame that is easy to disassemble when I move out. This one gives my room a simple and modern look. Easy to install. And we all know that wood would last longer than MDF. You cannot find a solid wood bed frame at this price from any other places.5

Solid bed, unbeatable valueJesseThe shipping cost as much as the bed, but it still cost a hundreds less for similar quality modern wood bed frame. The item was not difficult for me to assemble, but the instructions do recommend having two people to make it easier. I am basically three people so it went by extremely fast. :-D4

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is solid wood?

Solid wood is one of our favorite materials and is part of our Scandinavian heritage. It is also a timeless material with many uses. Regardless of the tree species, it is durable, beautiful and renewable. We strive to use this raw material as smartly and efficiently as possible to avoid waste – and we also invest in facilities and logistics so that we can increase the use of recycled wood.
