I recently faced a dilemma where I needed to make a substantial purchase on Amazon, but I wanted to use a combination of gift cards and my credit card to cover the total cost. The challenge was that Amazon doesn't allow billing to be split three ways. That's when I came up with a clever solution using my Mastercard gift card.
Instead of trying to use the Mastercard gift card directly on Amazon, I decided to convert it into an Amazon e-gift card. The process was surprisingly simple and quick. I used my Mastercard gift card to purchase an Amazon e-gift card for the exact amount remaining on the card. Within minutes, I received the Amazon e-gift card in my email.
Adding the e-gift card to my Amazon account was a breeze. I accepted the gift card, and it was immediately added to my account balance. With the new total balance, I was able to make my purchase using a combination of my Amazon gift cards and my credit card, without any issues.
This workaround was a game-changer for me. It allowed me to make full use of my Mastercard gift card and combine it with my existing Amazon gift card balance, all while keeping the transaction smooth and straightforward. If you find yourself in a similar situation, I highly recommend this method to consolidate your gift cards and make your Amazon shopping experience even more flexible and convenient.
There's not much to explain, this is an e-gift card, and it did what it was intended for. I guess you could say I'm usually a more traditional kind of girl, because I normally prefer a physical plastic card that is in front of me that I can see and hold, but I was purchasing this as a gift for my step-son, and didn't want to risk it being lost by sending in the mail to him out of state. Glad I took a chance on this, ordering was straight forward and simple, and Amazon makes every purchase of just an ordinary everyday girftcard unique and I love that. Upon picking the kind of giftcard you want, then decide the amount you want to put on the card, you are then able to customize what the e-card will look like when it is received. They have a ton of different artwork designs to choose from, they offer either a still image, or moving/animated ones. There's plenty of options for both kinds, and they offer theme ones as well, ranging from birthday to anniversary to Christmas gift and everything in between. Literally every occasion you can think of there is an option to customize for that. Also, whatever occasion you are shopping for has ample amount of options to go with the theme of that occasion for your giftcard. They also offer customization that you can design by providing your own picture from your gallery on your phone. Such a cute idea! After you are finished with deciding what your card will look like, there is an option to write a personalized note to go with it. They automatically send a gift receipt with it, and you can choose whether you want to send the card via email, or by a link through a text message. Once you send it, it gets to the intended recipient in a matter of minutes, which is great because your not having to wait on the postal service to deliver it. You get it in minutes, and the person doesn't have to call a number to activate it, or register the card for usage online like so many other giftcards make you do. This one is ready to go as soon as the person receives/opens the message containing the giftcard. These also don't have a time limit for the funds on it. The amount of money on it doesn't expire or deplete over time, as other cash giftcards will sometimes do. Awesome feature! You also can choose it to be either a cash giftcard that can be spent anywhere credit cards are accepted or cash giftcard for Amazon shopping. Im also pretty sure there's a feature on these that if the person doesn't want to use funds only for online use/shopping, they can have the option of moving the card to a mobile wallet or PayPal to use for purchases in person rather than online. This is a perfect gift for anyone and for any occasion, or for no occasion at all. With how easy the process was I will definitely buy again in the future, and would recommend this to others as well. Plus, doing it this way doesn't make it look like another plain ol' regular giftcard, but instead a cute present that looks thought out and special, like it was made just for that person. It makes it look like a thought out gift instead of a last minute looking gift. Hope this helps anyone deciding on if this is something you want to purchase or gift! :)
I have a hard to buy for sibling, so for Christmas and birthdays, I usually end up buying a gift card to pad out the other gifts. (He doesn't do a lot of store shopping, but I know he loves ordering from Amazon).
Lately, I've gotten a little nervous about buying gift cards locally, since there have been so many news stories about gift cards on display in stores (all brands of cards) being accessed online by bad actors before the recipient can even use it. I found myself trying to figure which local stores have a secure display, but many of the displays are just out in the open. For Christmas, I ordered a physical card to be delivered to me, and I have to admit that the delivery person did place the package out of view from the street, but there have been a bunch of porch pirates lately that made me nervous. So for his birthday, I decided to try this route. The process was very easy, and it was sent to him very quickly. Hopefully it is easy for him to redeem.
As much as I like giving a physical present, this worked out well, especially since I wouldn't be seeing him in person right away. My only suggestion would be to be able to schedule the delivery time. I realize that I can schedule what day it's delivered, but it would be nice if I could schedule the time as well, but that's certainly not a deal breaker.
Honestly what's not to like about an Amazon gift card? This site has dang near everything you could ever need, so it's way better to get an Amazon card than a card to some restaraunt or something that locks you in to one item/service.
The only thing I like better are Visa cards, but those always have a fee when buying them, and often the funds expire, so the safe bet is the Amazon card.
Don't lose sleep wondering what to buy the moment you receive the card, just load it into your balance and then wait. Often I will have projects at home that pop up where I need a tool or other object, and having the Amazon balance ready and waiting is perfect.
