If you're just looking for field markers for home training purposes, then these will work. They are thinner and more flimsy than expected, but still acceptable quality. The strap would be great if it were built a little better. Unfortunately as others have mentioned, it isn't strong enough for lengthy carrying. I used these for a craft project. Used as a carrot with a dollar tree fern to look like big carrots in my front yard for Easter..secured with 2 nails pushed into the grass (drilled holes thru plastic). Regarding using these on a sports field I have no idea how they would work. They are really lightweight and you sure couldn't use nails to secure them. Maybe if you are a field sport person you may have another idea but all I can see is a good wind blowing them down the field. PS they do fad. I had mine outside for 3 to 4 weeks kind of pale now but I'll use next Easter might hit w some spray paint.
