I've been through several different brands of fogless shaving mirrors over the years. They all eventually lose the ability to stay fog free, some faster than others. When my most recent one started to fail, I was planning once again to throw it out and buy a new one, but first I came across this item on Amazon.
I was suspicious of it given the mixed reviews, but it's cheaper than buying a new mirror so I decided to give it a try. And I'm glad I did.
Turns out you don't spray it on while you are showering - you spray it on some other time and let it air dry. Which I did.
And then the next morning when I turned on the shower, I initially said crap, it doesn't work, because the mirror fogged up right away.
But then I took my washcloth (any soft cloth will do), wet it with hot water, and wiped the initial fog away. And low and behold, the mirror stayed crystal clear and fog free through the rest of my shower -- and I take a 20 minute shower. It's been about 10 days since I first applied it and it's still working fine every morning. Just one quick wipe down each morning after the initial fogging and I'm good to go.
I have to think the problems others have reported here are due to people not following the directions. Again, it is NOT meant to be applied during your shower. You need to apply it separately and let it air dry. I'm guessing that if you apply it during the shower it isn't able to bond properly to the mirror.
I'm sure I will eventually have to reapply it, but that is no big hassle. And lord knows there's enough in the bottle to last through many dozens of reapplications.
