Art Brut albums are difficult to buy on vinyl. The debut got a re-release a few years ago, and ‘Wham! Bang! Pow! Let’s Rock Out’ got a decent vinyl run, but the rest are very hard to come by. So the first great thing about this ‘Best Of’ is that you can listen to more Art Brut songs on your vinyl player. The second great thing is the track listing. Art Brut write hits, and this record has all the hits. It also includes the stand alone singles ‘Arizona Bay’ and ‘We Make Pop Music’, and a few rarities too. The final thing to love is the artwork. For a band called ‘Art Brut’, they have to have good artwork, and the cover and inner sleeve has good artwork. It’s a really good, fun and enjoyable record. Now let’s rock out…
Lovely vivid green two LP vinyl collection of Art Brut classics, rarities and live tracks. A fantastic companion to the exhaustive 5cd collection released at the same time which also features signed art work. The sound quality here is excellent and the selection of tracks is spot on. A personal favorite “Unprofessional Wrestling” is in great company. Both this and the CD set now have pride of place in my record collection! Can’t wait for Volume 2. Very much looking forward to seeing them live later in the year.
