LCD SOUNDSYSTEM IN CONCERT:

Back in the early '00s fans fell hard and fast for the funky electronica and rebellious rock and roll spirit LCD Soundsystem brought to their superb albums and killer live shows. The fun ended in 2011 when the band hung up their guitars and unplugged their drum machines, but not all was lost—legendary frontman James Murphy announced a reunion in 2015, and fans can't wait for LCD to blast some seriously funky stuff when they return to the stage. With headlining sets at several world-class festivals slated for 2016, the band has fans chomping at the bit to dance the night away to favorites like “Losing My Edge”, “Daft Punk Is Playing at My House”, and “North American Scum”. LCD Soundsystem is sure to deliver the party-worthy passion that ticket buyers love to feel on the dance floor, and fans can't wait for their epic comeback party.

BACKFROUND SNAPSHOT:

James Murphy bounced around the NYC music scene for more than a decade before gaining traction with the DJ project Death from Above, which saw him spinning everything from Daft Punk to Can. After seeing a younger DJ aping his unique mixes, he was inspired to write the snarky, humorous “Losing My Edge” in 2002 and LCD Soundsystem was born. He continued to cut successful singles and assembled a group of musicians to recreate his songs in a live setting, a move that thrilling both indie rockers and underground dance fans. Murphy's underground fame soon gave way to crossover success—the band's 2005 self-titled debut and 2007 album Sound of Silver both received Grammy nominations for Best Electronica/Dance Album. After the release of their 2010 album This Is Happening, Murphy decided to step out of the limelight and announced the group’s final show the following year. The hiatus only lasted four years, as the songwriter posted a heartfelt letter to his fans in 2015 telling them he had come up with a wealth of new material and decided that his former band would be the best outlet for it. With LCD Soundsystem headlining major festivals like Coachella in 2016, fans can’t wait to pick up where this dance party left off.

    Fantastic Night

by Ldon on 6/1/24Armory - Minneapolis

Performance was really exciting and everything I hoped and wanted. The crowd was great. The drinks were incredibly expensive.

    Awesome Crowd

by KCooke708 on 5/30/24Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - Chicago

I went into this show knowing only one song but knew it was a good band if they are doing 4 nights in a row at the same venue. Their music is not my cup of tea but I needed to see I Can Change live after hearing it in FIFA 11. I stuck around for the whole show and when they did their encores the crowd really picked up. I loved Dance Yourself Clean and New York I love You.

    Thirsty and hot

by Fa la la on 5/29/24Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - Chicago

Please don't charge people 6.50 for canned water that tastes like metal. Have free water stations so folks don't pass out because they can't afford the water. That happened. Lcd Soundsystem was great, though the sound was not good on the ground level, way better upstairs, where it was sweltering hot.

    Shoulda gone Sunday, too

by J!m on 5/29/24Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - Chicago

I dont really believe "new york i love you"fits as the penultimate song. Maybe right before intermission. Maybe last before the encores. Woulda liked to hear "call the police"or "no love lost"but the set lists were great. Best band energy friday or saturday, best crowd energy saturday. Monday the crowd skewed youngest and mellowest and by mellowest i mean boring. Great shows!

    Phenomenal show!

by Graham on 5/29/24Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - Chicago

LCD sound system was superb! Energy was electric, music was great, and sound was shockingly good at the Aragon Brawlroom! Overall I had a 10 outta 10 time, I will see them again whenever I can.

    good music terrible venue

by DB on 5/29/24Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - Chicago

LCD Soundsystem were great but the venue was terrible. It felt over sold every night. The Aragon Ballroom needs to sell like 500 fewer tickets for the floor.

LCD soundsystem = great for retirement

by Hearse Man on 5/29/24Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - Chicago

For a band that has tried to retire a few times they sure do bring the goods, and Aragon has risen to a better level of professionalism, and the services there are better than they were 5 years ago, it was a super swell experience, acoustically perfect as always and better sight lines because I wore my highest heel cowboy boots, always willing to give it another chance Great memories as always

    Great energy!

by Garett G on 5/28/24Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - Chicago

LCD didn't disappoint with the energy! They played tons of songs I knew and encored with all the big hits. We danced almost all night. I was, however, disappointed with the sound of Aragon Ballroom. They lyrics were hard to hear and lacked clarity.

    Great band, lousy event

by Dave S on 5/28/24Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - Chicago

    1) Aragon Ballroom is among my least favorite concert venues in town. It’s a lovely space but clearly designed for balls, not concerts. The pillars obstruct sight lines if you want to get off the too-crowded dance floor. 2) the doors opened at 7:00. The tickets said showtime was 8:00. The band took the stage at 9:15. When I got there at 7:30 there was no line to get in. My pal told me the line was around the corner on Broadway at 8:45. Is that why the show started so late? To accompany people showing up late? 3) the audience sucked. Among the most entitled and least considerate group of tall men in tech-bro outfits. There really should be a “girls to the front” rule. LCD Soundsystem were great, but I left after an hour because hell is other people.

    Oversold show

by CK on 5/28/24Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - Chicago

Way oversold show for the venue. Worst experience at the Aragon. Could not see any of the show since it was so packed. Could barely get a drink by the front bar since fans were almost at the bar just trying to see.
