The thing about vinyl is that its a tactile thing. The box is lovely, but its just a box. No artwork or anything inside other than the three records, would had been nice to have some content like we got in the RAM 10th anniversary edition.
Thankfully the records themselves are good quality heavy weight vinyl. All mine were thankfully extremely flat and level and played very well. Can’t say what the out of box experience would be as I always clean my records even when new and zap them with a Zerostat.
So, great sounding music on good quality vinyl but slightly let down by the experience.

Au début, on se dit "Waw, le mec est vraiment doué ! Il sait faire du Daft Punk et ça ? C'est très fort."
C'est peut-être très fort, et effectivement les mélodies sont agréables et plutôt recherchées. Extrêmement bien rendues par l'orchestre. À la première écoute, on a envie de mettre 5 étoiles. Puis viennent les écoutes suivantes, et là, l'intérêt s'émousse, on ne sait pas pourquoi.

Si, je sais : il n'y a pas de dynamique dans cette musque. C'est une suite de tableaux, alternativement gais et sombres, mais qui ont peu de lien entre eux. Il suffit de voir les titres : pas de fil rouge, pas d'épopée.

Alors, nul doute que Thomas Bangalter sait écrire pour l'orchestre, je ne lui retire certainement pas ça. Mais l'auditeur est rarement emporté. Il écoute une suite de tableaux sans dynamique, presque sans vie. Ça coule comme de l'eau entre les mains. À aucun moment ce n'est ni trop chaud ni trop froid, quand on y pense.

C'est tiède.

PS : sortir un album "classique" sans soigner un peu les notes de pochette, et ne nous donner que la tracklist, c'est presque une insulte...

When I heard about this, I was a little confused: one half of the electro duet daft punk is writing classical music for a ballet!??
It’s probably one of the most difficult thing to do but I must admit, from the first track, you know you’re going to get hooked!
Thomas knows what he’s doing and the result is absolutely amazing. I’m still in shock after listening to the double CD set and not being bored one second!!

60€ pour un coffret annoncé limité mais non numéroté.
Pour le même prix, on a très souvent des coffrets plus riche et intéressant, c'est dommage.
Déception à l'ouverture, donc.
Heureusement que sur la platine, il fait parfaitement le job.
