The Orion features Simba Flex®, a unique slat system designed to adjust automatically to your weight, shape and sleeping position.
To begin with, the slat fittings are suspended just above the side rails, giving them the freedom to flex gently as you move during the night. Which matters a lot when it comes to keeping you comfortable.
In addition the slats are divided into five zones, allowing them to tailor support to the specific needs of your shoulders and hips: a zone of triple-cushioned, hyper-reactive narrower slat helps support pressure relief around the shoulders (where most night movement occurs), while a zone of firmer, extra-wide slats sit around the lumbar area, which needs more support.
All you need to build your new Orion bed base is ten minutes. Because thanks to Simba’s Easy-fit assembly system, there are no fiddly tools, bolts or screws to deal with, it’s just click, slide, twist… And you're ready to rock and roll.

There are 50 slats in total per King/Super King bed (25 slats in each frame), 46 slats per Double bed (23 in each frame)
4 birch plywood slats (per frame) with sprung loaded fittings provide softer support around the shoulders; twin fixed slat shoes provide for maximum flexibility
3 sprung extra-wide birch plywood slats (per frame) are designed to provide firmer support in the lumbar zone. twin fixed slat shoes provide for maximum flexibility

Remaining slats are birch plywood and sprung loaded, with a dark grey wrap finish.
