Our replacement hydration bladder features our 3-liter Crux reservoir that makes it easier to load and refill. After volunteering at a 100 mile ultra I discovered the value of the wide mouth vs. the fold over style for speed and simplicity. Several comments were about leaking and the "seal" not working. The "seal" is actually a small strap that goes around to lid to keep it attached. It was not attached when I received mine so could be confused as a "seal" instead of a strap. Also, buy a "dryer". Various styles available, but some type of structure to keep the bladder open for drying. I've gone through rolls of paper towels trying to dry out my old one.

    So far, I have taken this camelbak on 2 trips and i like it! I like that you can un-clip the hose from the bladder - it makes cleaning easier for me. I havent noticed any connectivity problems between the hose and bladder (but I have only used it twice...). I like the baffle inside the bladder that keeps the bladder thin while it's full. Helpful for getting it back into your pack.

    The reason I did 4 stars instead of 5 was because at one point during our backpack, I found that it was leaking. I freaked out since we were in the middle of our trip. I checked everything to make sure it wasn't leaking and couldn't find any problems, so I thinkI just didn't screw the cap on properly. I havent had a problem with it afterwards, so you just have to be careful to screw the cap on properly. The reason i reduced the stars, eventhough the problem was human error, was because it could be hard to tell if the cap is on straight and tight if youre trying to fill the bladder up without taking it out of your pack.

    I washed it with baking soda and vinegar before taking it on a trip and that helped reduce the plastic-y flavors. I like the new drinking mouthpiece. You can get more water out of a sip, which is helpful.

    Bought for a backpacking trip and it worked out wonderful. Smart design that allows you to bite down on the straw to release the water flow. There’s also a valve to stop accidental water spills. The only thing I wasn’t too fond of was the filling cap was so wide and bulky. That makes it a little awkward to fill it up and close once it’s full, but it wasn’t a deal breaker for me.

    Very satisfied with the latest edition of Camelbak 3L water reservoir. They increased the width of the hose to allow more water flow, modified the filling cap for even easier opening and closing, yet seals perfectly. Additionally they modified the drinking valve, in my opinion a more practical and efficient style, along with the universal adapter, so one may attach a more appropriate insulated hose for winter conditions. I would highly reccomend you pair this up a Camelbak Backpack which can support 3L reservoirs.
