Columbia has made a great tent!!

Columbia has made a great tent!!
The majority of everything I buy is Columbia so when I saw that they made a tent. It was a must have for me because 80% of my trust in a item is the brand. So I knew that this company would make one of the best tents in the market.SETUPThis tent is easy to set up, and even easier to put away. The instructions are clear and because of that I was able to set it up by MYSELF within 10 minutes.WEATHERI luckily have not encounter any rain since I’ve been using it but if it did rain, I at least know that I can keep two of my windows open and watch the rain because of they way the tents made. The rainfly is a great addition because it buckled on to the tent in 1 minute. So it’s easy to take on and off for if you rather view the stars at night. There was a decent amount of wind but nothing blew away and the tent was perfectly sturdy.DESIGNIt’s very stylish and I personally think It is the best looking tent I’ve been able to find online. This is why I am giving my over all review 4 stars, I have two minor design issues that I would prefer we’re designed differently.First the tent divider is very transparent and I would not recommend changing while someone is on the other side, this divider also hooks on the tent, this divider comes separate and you can choose to put it on. I rather have the divider be attached to the tent itself so you feel like there are two different rooms in the tent, this divider is basically like a blanket that you attach in the middle to try and make two separate rooms. It works but I didn’t end up using it because it truly has no purpose since again it’s very transparent.Second the doors are on one side of the tent, so if you did hang a divider up, only one room has doors. I wish both sides each had a door. I don’t really plan on ever using one side of the door while camping so it should have just been a signed door. If the divider work how I’m picturing it then I would enjoy having two doors to keep open so I can sit in the shade under my tent but also have a sealed room off from bugs and animals.SLEEPING AT NIGHTThe tent has so many options on how to ventilate. If you seal all of the windows it can be a decent temperature and in the day time you can keep it cool with how many windows you can open.Over all I am happy with this tent and I look forward to using it as much as possible.Hopefully you’ll find this review helpful!!

This tent is a nice middle ground tent on moving away from things like a coleman and before you start getting into high end specialist tents.

We tested this tent out in dry lake side conditions, thunderstorms along a mountain range and downpours in a field. The included rain fly held up perfectly to the rain, we had no overhead drips water seepage along the sides. It's important when camping in rain to not place objects against your tents outer walls to prevent seepage in ANY tent. In a heavy downpour with the lines stakes out and clipped to the poles the fly did not sag, so we were spared any runoff issues.

The tub bottom was fine with the rain, but I would recommend a tarp or matching footprint to help with heavy rain seepage. If the rain lasted much longer than a couple hours at a time it was getting to the point where it would seep along the outer bottom edges.

This tent is very sturdy when properly staked and pitched. The problem I can see with this is the instructions are very brief with little to no visual cues to go off of. There is a lot of tension on the whole setup with the poles are in place and it definitely isn't going anywhere. We had some decent wind gusts come off a mountain and there were no issues, even with the pop-out windows.

As for space this thing is already a large tent in the 8 person version, we had a queen size mat, a kids inflatable bed, and a cabela's XL size cot with frame in there without any issues. Once you stake out the gimmicky looking windows however it does make it feel even larger. We ended up liking the pop out windows quite a bit since we had a lot of rain and for the spacious feeling they provided.

Overall this is a nice, sturdy, and dry tent.

I've used this tent twice now. Once on the beach and once in the woods. I have very mixed feelings. As a tall tent we got unexpected 20 mph winds on the beach and it did not break but we had to take it down because it would have had we left it up.
The biggest issue is my recent camp trip I went on we had a steady rain for 2 days. I had my pop up and tarps over the tent yet we had puddles in all 4 corners and the whole floor of the tent was damp despite having a tarp under it. We were on a site that was draining well so no standing puddles except the corners of our tent. I think you need to waterproof the bottom of the tent which I've never had to do before even in cheaply made tents. I'm incredibly disappointed in the waterproofing. I was not expecting more than some dampness at this price point. Not a river. The features of the windows reaming open do not make this worth it. Now I get to go spend a small fortune in waterproofing as it'll take a couple cans unfortunately.
    Pros
    No tears
Good quality material as the windstorm did not break the poles or tear the fabric
Windows that allow viewing even in a rainstorm
8 person fits 3 comfortably with a cot and queen mattress beside each other leaving the opposite side for storage abd sitting.
    Cons
Not good as a 2 room with divider because both doors are on one side of divider and divider in this model is partially see through
NOT even water resistant (hopefully waterproofing the floor and corners will help)
Tall tent means not great in windstorm (this is an all tall tent issue)

LOVE this tent. Lots of great features. Very roomy. Slope of windows kept rain out. Mesh top allows moisture to collect on rainfly & drip outside tent. Screened area in front was great for mosquito filled nights. Mesh top also great for star gazing on clear nights. Actually easy to set up. Second time used, set up on dark by myself. Took less than 10 minutes. Recommend the matching footprint. Has loops to hold in place in corners & middle.

UPDATE... been using tent for 2 summers at long term & weekend scout camps. We had a storm this month with 50+ mph winds which lasted for over 15 minutes this month. Figured the tent would be a gonner, but returned from storm shelter to find tent still standing. One bone cracked, but otherwise tent was dry inside & zippers held-up awesome. Lost 5 expensive (not Columbia) scout tents in the storm. Plenty of room for all displaced campers to sleep in my tent that night. VERY important to use guide ropes when setting-up. ALSO- mark the corners of the rainfly, makes set-up much easier. Was able to set-up tent by myself with one arm/hand in a cast.

Definitely a learning curve to put the tent together but it’s not too bad. Took two of us about 30 min. Do NOT use the chintzy stakes that are included. Go buy the heavy duty yellow ones and use those instead. The tent quality is excellent but I can’t vouch for the waterproof aspect as it didn’t rain at the time. Space-wise: very roomy for one or two people. I had a queen mattress and small side table at one end. At the other end was a 5 ft table and mini fridge. Plus a cooler on the one side. No problems with the zippers. I definitely recommend this tent.

Absolutely love this tent! Would be great for family of four. I like the cabin style bc you can stand straight up in the whole tent. Does well with rain except for the floor. If there's a cot or chair on the floor and it's raining, it does leak through. Windows, doors, and roof do not leak. Assembly is very easy. I recommend YouTube tutorials for set up the first couple times. Screen mesh keeps out all bugs. Material is very good and durable.
