4 reasons why I have LOVED this Philosophy product for over a decade.
1. Perfect skin : I have used this Philosophy set for years and I rarely have a breakout. (Less than 3 times a year) It works as an exfoliant, removing dead skin and opening clogged pores. It always leaves my skin bright and clear.
2. Ease of use : I use this in the shower twice a week. It’s both simple and quick, just two steps. First, I wash my face then I dry my skin. (Drying your hands and your face is a crucial step when using the product. you’ll get better results if your hands and face are dry before you apply the product)
Next, Gently rub the exfoliant crystals onto your face. Start with a small amount and add more to cover your entire face, chin and forehead. Leave the scrub on, rinse and dry your hands.
Finally, apply a small amount of the gel. Let it sit for 30-60 seconds and rinse. That’s it!!
3. Powerful but not hard on my skin: My skin can sometimes be sensitive. I have experienced stinging and burning with some products, but not with Philosophy. If you have sensitive skin I would suggest using a small amount to start. I would not use this with other exfoliants. This is the only product I use on my face for exfoliation and the results are near perfect for me.
4. Good value : Yes it’s expensive but you only need to use it a couple times a week. My set usually lasts at least 4 months. I think this is an excellent investment and it’s worth every penny. I’m convinced this set has kept my skin looking bright and blemish free.

Facial Peel
I did my standard two days of patch tests. The first on my arm and the second day on a small part of my face. I did feel a bit more tingling than usual when I used this on my face, so I did an extra test. I didn’t notice any redness or negative reaction after the third one, so I tried this on my face. It’s a two-part process. First you apply a teaspoon sized amount of the resurfacing peel to dry skin. Then you massage it onto your face for about a minute. Next you apply step two,the resurfacing peel, using the same amount, about a teaspoons worth. You massage that into your face and leave it on for three minutes then thoroughly rinse. The directions state to avoid your eyes, and I was very careful about that. I’ve use this twice now, once a week, and after the first time, on the box, it states you will notice an improvement in skin texture. I can’t say that I have, but in four weeks fine lines should improve along with discoloration. I’ll update if that happens. I’m skeptical of any at home products that can really make a difference after one use or honestly even four uses. I’ll continue to use this weekly and see what happens. It does tingle when I’ve used it but my skin did not wind up irritated, so I guess that shows it’s working and not a negative. 🤞it does improve my facial texture and fine lines. Both containers were safety sealed, but I couldn’t locate an expiration date on either container or the box. So far, I like, but don’t love this product, but again, I haven’t been using it for long so that could change.
