Apply a THIN layer of base coat. Cap the tip of the nail. Let the polish dry for 2 minutes.
Apply a THIN layer of color with a maximum of 3 strokes. Let dry 2 minutes.
Apply a THIN layer with the second coat. Cap the tip and let dry 2 minutes.
Apply a THIN layer of top coat, let dry for 2 minutes.

4 Step Perfect Home Manicure


CLEANSE Place index finger inside The Stripper To Go mitt. Press and hold the mitt on each nail of the opposite hand. Count to five and move the mitt from side to side and towards the tip to remove nail polish. Swap to place mitt on the other index finger and repeat the above process.	SHAPE & EXFOLIATE Use the Eco File to file nails from the outside in. Never file back and forth—this motion can cause breakage. To make your fingers look longer, mirror the tip of your nail to the shape of your cuticle. Start with side 1 of the Smooth Operator 4-way nail buffer to smooth away dullness. Next, use side 2 to buff any ridges followed by side 3 to smooth the nail surface. Stop with side 3 if you plan on wearing nail lacquer, use side 4 to get amazing shine.	TREAT (NEVER CUT) THE CUTICLE Apply the Cuticle Remover where the skin meets the nail. Using the rounded end of the Cuticle Pusher, push back the cuticle in circular movements. Use the opposite end to target harder buildup. Wipe nails clean and massage cuticle with the Cuticle Oil.	FINISHING TOUCH Apply 2 Second Nail Primer to remove dirt, oil or residue. Once dry, apply a thin coat of Hard Rock. Wait for nails to dry and apply two thin coats of your Deborah Lippmann nail lacquer of choice. Finish with a final coat of Hard Rock.

I have used so many brands over the years, from the cheapest drugstore brands to Chanel. I have only tried a few shades of the Lippman, Whatever Lola Wants being my favorite…a silvery pale cool neutral with just a touch of lilac…a unique, pretty shade that goes with everything. But most importantly, this polish lasts! I wash my hands a lot at work, up to 20 times a night, and I can get almost a week out of this polish without a chip. Eventually the edges start to wear off, but it still looks fine. Other brands, even with a top coat, sometimes I don’t even make it a day without chips. This polish also stays fairly thin, still usable until you empty the bottle. Dries pretty fast too. If I can get a week out of a polishing, I’m pretty happy. Worth every penny.

In general, I really like Deborah Lippman polishes for their shine, cushion and almost gel-manicure-like final look, and the fact that they lack some toxic ingredients. My only complaint is that while some colors go on great, others can be a royal pain-in-the-butt to get to go on smoothly with no streaking and often require several coats that take forever to dry.

This is the second time I bought this, even though I initially decided not to buy it again just because of the brush.

The polish itself is great, but the brush is terrible. The bristles are too soft, so they fill up with too much polish, which makes it difficult to apply the polish with any sense of precision, and virtually impossible to apply it to the nail without a lot of polish getting on the skin around the nails.

I hope Deborah Lippmann (or the company) is reading this, and will change the quality of the brush.
