Our candles are packaged in boxes with an FSC certification, which means they were made using materials from responsibly managed forests, including some recycled paper products.
The soy wax in our candles is non-GMO and grown in the USA.
When burning your candle for the first time, allow it to burn for 2 to 3 hours, until the top layer of the wax has completely melted. This will prevent the wax from tunneling around the wick. When burning the candle after the first burn, do not let it burn for over 3 hours at a time.
Ideally, we recommend keeping the wick trimmed to 1/4 inch at all times to prevent the candle from emitting smoke or the wick falling into the wax.
After each burn, see that the wick is centered in the wax. This will also ensure that the glass does not overheat. The wick and flame should never be touching the glass. When approaching the end of the candle, leave ¼ inch of wax unburned and ensure you are not burning the candle for more than 3 hours. The glass can get overheated without the presence of wax and break.

First discover Flamingo Estate at a boutique in Boulder and was immediately drawn to the Roma Heirloom Tomato candle. I had never smelled a "savory" aka non-sweet candle before. I was so captivated by this scent. I bought it, went home, lit it, and have never looked back since ha! It's been two years now and I have a healthy, consistent stock of these incredible tomato candles in my home (at least three going at a time!) ... Never tire of this aroma. I burn them at least once a week, but even when not burning, I get a whiff of this intoxicating fragrance when I walk by one of my candles. I usually buy the Three Sisters Set and they burn harmoniously together all at once :) I also have the Roma Heirloom Tomato Room Spray and love it so much for that quick fix of immediate tomato fragrance in the air and in my nose! Im typically not a fan of scented candles…. (I found the sage candle to be a bit strong)…. But this one is mellow and earthy and easy to be around.

It is the perfect combination of earthy, light, and summery scents! I love burning it in combination with other Flamingo Estate candles (Rosemary and the Olive Tree one specifically), but it is equally wonderful on its own. I have already bought it as a gift and it will definitely be a repeat buy!
