Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
This is disappointing. I have owned Eagle Creek bags that held up well for years of travel. I returned home from a trip where I had packed light so did not notice bent wheel and put away the bag. I took it out and packed it for next trip and it wouldn't roll because the wheel was bent. I had to buy a new bag (REI-$20 less) the day before leaving for my next trip overseas.
I love travel and luggage so I have all sizes and types. For the last three trips I've taken, this duffle bag was perfect! It held up under the abuse of airport luggage systems, it kept the rain out, it had the perfect configuration for packing (I use packing cubes with it.), it looks nice (inconspicuous), the handle and wheels are strong, and the raves go on! This is a real winner!

Good number of straps to maneuver the bag, thats about it.
Got this less than a year ago, but one of the wheels slipped out of its socket and now permanently cannot handle any weight on it. It will slip out of socket under any meaningful pressure - literally just pressing it up with your hand will slip it out. Once out of its socket, cannot roll anymore; will just drag itself when pulled on. Due to the design of the wheel wells, enclosed in plastic, mono-piece, no screws, replacing any wheels manually is impossible. Would require complete disassembly of the entire corner.
The backpack straps are not as useful as I thought. Too unbalanced as a backpack, especially when meaningfully loaded to about 40-45lb. The finish is shiny and water proof, But any meaningful handling from the airline will scuff it. Subsequently this can allow water intrusion.
The internal strap is very strange and impractical. There is only one strap in the style of a Y. Very different from two parallel straps. Very awkward to secure things.
Update: Initiated warranty claim, but a week later still no response. The wheels are "bolted" on, not screwed on. So, even if you want to replace them yourself, you most definitely cannot.
2nd Update: RMA claim responded week a half later. Eaglecreek offered free ship to repair, but was in the area (Jacksonville, FL) so dropped it off and picked up myself. Just one day turnaround, so simple fix I reckon. Both wheels and housings replaced. +1 star for free ship and fast turnaround, but still.
